About this listen

In Ten Stupid Things Couples Do to Mess Up Their Relationships, Dr. Laura Schlessinger calls for a return to traditional courtship. Courtship allows couples and their families to get acquainted with each other over a longer period of time, and provides structure and guidelines for that important process. Schlessinger asks couples to take a long, hard look at the recurring problems in their marriages, both small and large, and doesn't hesitate to tell them what they are doing wrong and how they can fix it. This audiobook is an invaluable guide for all married couples and for single people who are struggling to find the right mate or escape a bad relationship. Acknowledging your stupid mistakes can be difficult, but with the help of this audiobook, you will learn how to correct them and how to find fulfillment, joy, and loving companionship in your most important relationship.©2001 Dr. Laura C. Short and to the point. Showed me what I need to work on, and also that I'm not being petty for disliking certain behaviors in men.

Brings a lot of clarity

Dr. Laura does a super job pouring myriad life experiences into this valuable book of instruction. I love Dr. Laura, she possesses all the wisdom I expect and appreciate of a (long ago) fellow denizen of Brooklyn New York. Truly, God has blessed you Dr. Laura.

It's so refreshing to hear someone tell it like it is without worrying of "feelings" or loosing a book sale here and there. If you want actual marriage advice that will more than likely make you stop and go "I do that!" Than this is your book. If you want a marriage book that makes you a victim and helps you justify your position. This isn't the book for you.

I had a bad childhood and knew that my childhood effected my adult life. But this book makes you stop and realize that maybe you have more issues than you realized. That you are responsible for your happiness. Not your spouse. And how ridiculous I feel for thinking with my feelings all the time. One of my favorite things she said was that we have a responsibility to our marriage and our family (children) even if your "feelings" are hurt. And later in the book she said that feelings don't have an IQ. But you do. So who's winning? Oh man, my "feelings" of anger towards my husband may be justified but the way I handle it wasn't. I have a lot more culpability in our marriage than I thought. Can't wait to start her other book!

No brainer ideas that we can forget

Seeing the stupid things and words I say is revealing, now finding the root of them and plucking them out is my job, nobody else’s but mine, to become a better person.
Thank you Dr Laura :)

There’s some good insights in here, but it is overshadowed by how pretentious Dr. Laura reads her book and how sexist she is towards women.
