LSAT Unplugged
About this listen
If you’re reading this, you’re probably studying for the LSAT. I know this process isn’t easy, and it can be incredibly frustrating at times. However, each year, many students overcome the hurdles and achieve significant score increases. Some even get top LSAT scores, leaving you wondering, “how’d they do it”?
Personally, I’m one of those stories. I started in the low 150s, yet I ultimately ended my LSAT journey with a 175.
But when I first started LSAT Blog, there wasn’t any organized place where top scorers could share their advice. It seemed to me that future test-takers should be able to benefit from the lessons others learned along the way. My first attempt to solve the problem was by collecting my students’ stories in what we call LSAT Diaries.
The project was almost too successful. There are now over 100 LSAT Diaries - more than most people will read. Once I organized them, I started thinking about how to make them more accessible.
This audiobook is the next phase of that project. In it, I’ve compiled 101 of the best insights my students gained over the years as they achieved significant score increases and top LSAT scores.
I hope their insights help you to do the same.

Story
Beliefs are very powerful. When you change your beliefs, you change your behavior and thus your outcomes. This is not some new age feel-good idea. There is solid research to back this up. I'll give you two examples. Gunder Hägg, a Swedish athlete, held the record for the one-mile run at 4:01.4, which he achieved on July 17, 1945. It took nine years for that record to be broken. On May 6, 1954, Roger Bannister broke that record and ran the one mile at 3:59.4. Only two months later, that record was broken, and every few years since then the record is set lower and lower.

Time management is perhaps something every person should learn about in greatest detail. This is because time is the only commodity in your life that you cannot regain once it is lost. Time is what makes your life, and if and when you realize that with every minute that passes you are closer to your death, you will never, ever want to see a moment lost. Every human being has a dream. This is the life goal that he chases throughout his life. Some people achieve their life’s goal and some don’t. Which group of people do you want to belong to?

As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

Do you ride the escalator or do you take the stairs? No matter how you define success, it always requires one thing: self-discipline. But as popular speaker and strategist Rory Vaden explains, we live in an "escalator world", one that's filled with shortcuts, quick fixes, and distractions that make it all too easy to slide into procrastination, compromise, and mediocrity. What seems like an easier path is really much harder in the end - and, most important, it won't take you where you want to go.

Story
To be a golfer is to tinker-with everything from equipment to grip to swing. But one thing most players don't give enough attention to is the mental game. Psychologists aren't a new phenomenon in golf, but Dr. Michael Lardon is a different breed of performance coach. Instead of sending his players into a losing battle against emotion, indecision, and fear on the golf course, he shows them how to organize their thoughts and use them for maximum performance.
