Editorial reviews

Job seekers mired in resumes and call backs will find encouragement in business motivational speaker Brian Tracy’s 21 Great Ways to Get the Job You Really Want.

Tracy may be a success in his own career, but he doesn’t beat the listener over the head with self-focused anecdotes. His tips involve general principles like goal-setting, but also more intriguing premises like creating a job by finding a way to increase savings or revenues within a company. In walking you through job researching, interviews, and salary requests, Tracy also comes up with catchy ways of remembering advice like the "Three C’s to Getting Any Jobs" (contact, credibility, and confidence).

Tracy’s soft-spoken delivery and quiet assurance make his job-finding tips more credible.

Needs technology update

Some of the information is outdated like using newspapers to find a job? Very upbeat and positive

Slightly outdated. Least favourite of his books.

I love Brian Tracey! He always sounds so positive, which is always helpful.

This book was a quick, short read, with some old school techniques. However, not too old not to know what the internet is! He does mention AOL, which was the dawn of the internet before Google became a thing, but his point is that Googling something nowadays is a privilege, and we should adapt and use this to our advantage.

I found some of his stats to be shocking but true, even to this day. Mr.Tracey discusses having the right approach to having the right enthusiasm for a job, as well as being smart about what to accept. After all, this is your contract, your life, so you get to set the terms in harmony with the right employer for you.

1980s-1990s infomercial

Rife with silly music and cyclical dialog. Don't miss this waste of time. literally sounds like those late night get rich quick commercials from the good ol' days

Outdated and Inaccurate

Mr. Tracy’s methodologies are outdated to help job seekers in the 2020 market.

I was on board with some of the goal setting, but seriously lost me at hidden job market.
