About this listen

The very best presents are nine months in the making....

When Robin was three, his mother took him to the mall and then disappeared into the crowd of Christmas shoppers, never to be seen again. Growing up in foster care was hard, but finding out that he was omega gave him hope. Someday, he’d have his own family, better than the one that abandoned him. Problem is, he needs a partner. A good one. When his latest boyfriend dumps him - on Christmas Eve! - he ends up at his best friend Ben’s house. Ben used to be a fantastic partner, but he’s got his own demons, so Robin tries to be happy with just his friendship these days.

Ben’s always loved Robin, but as the fourth generation in a family that passes down abuse like it’s an heirloom, he’s decided to put an end to the pattern. He plans to never have children, for fear he’ll turn out just like his father, and so he keeps Robin at arm’s length. Until Robin goes into heat and all plans are turned upside down.

Robin is pregnant, a Christmas miracle. The start of the family he’s always wanted. But is Ben strong enough to overcome his fear and his family history? And can Robin, abandoned by so many, find the courage to trust Ben to stay?

While this audiobook can be listened to separately from the Oceanport series, it takes place in the same location and fans of the series might recognize one or two friendly faces around town.

love it!

Ben and Robin are best friends who love each other deeply but had decided in the past that they worked better as friends than lovers. Not because they weren't good together but because Ben didn't want kids and Robin wanted a family. But one Christmas Eve Robin is at Ben's house, after getting dumped by his latest Alphahole, when his heat surprises them both. And a miracle is made. Now Ben and Robin need to overcome fears to embrace what the miracle has allowed them - a future together.
.

Narration is done by John Solo and it's great. I was taken away into the story with the help of the voice full of life and meaning. The characters really came to life and their personalities popped.

heartwarming

I loved this so much that I Iistened to in twice back to back and I didn't want it to end.I love friends to lovers and this checked all my boxes and then some. It was heartwarming to see Robin and Ben overcome Ben's fears and create a much loved family together. Loads of warm and fuzzies. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters to life.

Starting Family

This story features friends who accidentally start down a new road together. In some ways Ben has so much to overcome from his fears but I love how he is drawn to the dreams of family with Robin.

Yay for Christmas Baby!!

What do I not love about this story! I absolutely love Ann-Katrin Byrde Oceanport Omegas series and this one is no exception. This friends to lovers book is just amazing. I love Ben and Robin together so much! Then to have John Solo narration is just perfection. He just brings these characters to life that I can't get over it. If you haven't pick up this series yet do it!

Sweet mpreg for the holidays!!

Ahhhh this book has all the feels in it! A sweet story with a second chance at love for these two, an adorable dog, a little cameo from Conner (who is presh and adorbs and everything good in the world, and I totally need a story when he's grown up and ready for his mate) and a feel good read for the holidays!

Robin and Ben both come from hard times growing up - Robin was abandoned as a child, and Ben grew up with a violent, abusive father. Because of this, both of them have their demons and fears about relationships, family, and love. They dated in the past, but broke up and remained friends, although both clearly would love more.

I don't want to get too detailed to give anything away, but I really enjoyed this story! There was some minor drama and very little angst, and it was sweet reading about Ben and Robin finding their way back to each other. I do wish that maybe there had been a bit more backstory explained for them - maybe getting to read about them meeting as kids and then breaking up, would have given even more emotion to them reuniting in the present.

Highly recommended to fans of this author and series!!
