About this listen

When it comes to gambling and love, you must decide upon three things at the start: the rules of the game, the stakes, and the quitting time.

Logan Sinclair, a gambler, has an ultimatum from his father to clean up his life and marry, or lose his inheritance. He complies with all but the marriage. His father dies before he can change his will, leaving Logan just weeks to find a bride.

Left stranded in a strange town, and forced by necessity to take a job as a saloon woman, Emma Jamison finds herself fired on her first night. She is desperate for a place to go, so she agrees to marry Logan, who needs a wife immediately. Logan thinks he’s married a saloon woman, and Emma is happy to let him think it. He wants to annul the marriage after six months, and that’s fine with her. Things go along well, until a man from Emma’s past finds her and causes trouble. Around the same time, Logan’s past catches up with his life. How can such a mess in both their lives ever cause a happily ever after?

Sweet love story from the old west

This was my first time reading the author. I enjoy the pace of story and perspective of strong values and Christian faith. It was good to read a sweet romance that didn't burn up the sheets but that it still held my interest given the solid story. The narration was also very well done. Scott Bennett has a very well suited voice for this genre.

Great Western Romance

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. You can never go wrong with Barbara Goss' stories. She is a master at Christian romance. Some times you just need a wholesome, gentle love story. Logan was in a bind and needed a wife and Emma was in a bind needing a place to live. Great solution. Get married. However, it didn't feel right for either of them until they realized they were actually in love. Great Story. The narrator has a unique voice and does a good job with the characters, their personalities and the overall story.

Great Read

A Bride for Logan (The Proxy Brides #18) was another great read by Barbara Goss. Logan Sinclair's father gives him an ultimatum; clean up his life, stop gambling, and marry; or lose his inheritance. He complies with all but the marriage, when his father suddenly dies before changing his will. He now has only a few weeks to find a bride if he wants to inherit from his father. Emma Jamison is stranded in a strange town and forced to take a job as a saloon woman. She's fired the first night and agrees to marry Logan who needs a wife. They plan to annul the marriage after six months. Both of their pasts seem to catch up to them. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by Barbara Goss.

A very sweet love story with GREAT narration

This is the first book by Barbara Goss that I have l read/heard. It was a good love story. An easy listen, just over 4 hours.

I have listened to other books narrated by J Scott Bennett and love his ability to make a story come to life.

Logan and Emma

A Bride for Logan
The Proxy Brides, Book 18
By: Barbara Goss

This is a sweet clean western historical fiction romance. Logan and Emma have a proxy wedding. He needs a bride to inherit his father's farm. Emma lost her family and

best friend, leaving her all alone. She had tried to find work but the one night she worked as a bargirl she slapped a man and got fired. Logan thought she was a

saloon woman.

listener will be entertained.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. J. Scott Bennett is always a delight to listen read.

I really enjoyed this book. It shows what happens when we are desperate, how our lives usually turn out differently then we expect, and about forgiveness. I always enjoy J. Scott Bennett's narration. Good clean romance.
