About this listen

In Sergeant George Watters' next case, the Dundee policeman finds himself dealing with local susceptibilities and international intrigue.

Already involved in closing down a spate of illegal drinking dens in Lochee and Dundee, Watters is ordered to solve a murder and theft of a carriage from an influential Lochee merchant. His investigations take him to a family of tinkers and a group of Russian dissidents, as well as back to an incident that occurred in the Crimean War.

Together with his partner, Detective Scuddamore, can Watters tie up all the ends in this confusing case?

A riveting historical mystery, A Carriage for Lochee is the sixth novel in Malcolm Archibald's series of detective novels set in 19th century Dundee, Scotland.

Sadly boring

History is interesting but sad to say this story is not one of the ones I found to give a hoot about even though it was embellished

Good Read/ Listen

This story was quite enjoyable, and a double murder mystery to try figuring out. DI Winters is a driven detective and no matter how painful physical or how up set his superiors get he does what he feel is the right thing to do. Narration is Wounderful and well done, love the Scottish accents, does really well with entire storyline too!!

A twisted path

This was a very intriguing listen. The story took such twists and turns that I got lost down the rabbit hole and enjoyed it all. What a fantastic wrap up that I wasn't expecting. The tinker lady was awesome in several ways and her kindness was repaid. You reap what you sow and deeds paid in full was a wonderful conclusion that felt satisfying.
What an absolutely amazing journey. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life with his wonderful accents, voices, and expression.
