About this listen

Murder and mayhem take Jessica Huntington to new heights when Libby Van Der Woert wants to meet at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The disturbed daughter of Jessica's wealthy clients, Libby says she has information about her friend, Shannon Donnelly.

Another mixed-up daughter of the rich and famous, no one has heard from Shannon Donnelly in over a week. Trouble begins the moment Jessica greets Libby in the Mt. San Jacinto Wilderness. Wild, manic, and sure she's being followed, Libby's got a gun. All hell breaks loose when Libby's Beverly Hills shrink shows up with a gun of his own.

What's up with the missing and misguided daughters of wealth and privilege in Dr. Carr's care? Jessica and her friends go toe-to-toe with more well-heeled heels in A Dead Daughter. Getting to the bottom of things Jessica-Huntington-style sets off a whirlwind tour of fashionable enclaves, upscale rehab clinics, shops, restaurants and other haute hangouts.

Behind all the glitz and glam: secrets, lies, corporate wheeling and dealing. How can Jessica and her friends outwit and outlive "la creme de la crud" wreaking havoc from Palm Springs to Beverly Hills?

Fascinating Series

This is the first series I’ve enjoyed completely by audiobooks rather than reading the books first. I was lucky enough to win the first book in the series. I enjoyed listening to it so much, I decided to listen to the next 2 books as well. The series includes interesting characters set in the Los Angeles area. There are always plenty of twists. The author is clever enough to end each story with a cliff hanger so you can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

The person reading the book does a great job of differentiating the various characters. She makes these books come alive!

5 Stars

This is a well written and well developed series. The only thing I don't like is that Jessica seems to be a slow on the uptake at the end when everything comes together.

A story full of twists

I really enjoyed this story not only because I like the characters but I liked the plot too and with the twists the story takes, you won't see them all coming.
Jessica starts in trouble and things escalate from there and it's not long before she and the cat pack are deep into another mystery. Jessica's meets a clients daughter to see if she can patch things between them, where she learns some worrying things and is witness to a death, narrowly missing it becoming her own. Armed with the new information Jessica assigns her team to look into the dead doctor, who seemed to hurt more than helped his clients. With dead or missing daughters time is running out. At the same time Jessica also has family worries to contend with, adding to the problems it's a good thing she had friends.
I like the narrator and hope she continues to read the rest of the books in the series, as for me she is the voice of Jessica Huntington.

Good story, a little dramatic for my tastes

I am enjoying this series. The hero is a little larger than life and a bit dramatic at times but that's a personal taste thing. If you enjoy a light mystery, this is worth checking out.
