When you are within my walls, I am God.

I have always been here, and I will always be. I have complete dominion. I control what you see, what you feel, and how you think. I will bend reality to whatever I wish. I will show you your worst fears and make you indulge in your darkest desires.

Your pain is my pleasure. Your tears are my ambrosia. Your despair is my joy.

I will break you.

I will ruin you.

Once you enter me, there is no escape. I will own you, forever.

Unique haunted house story.

What the fart did I read/listen to? I have never listened to such a unique haunted house story. House control story? Crapt fire, I have no idea at this point. All I know is I loved it.

A group of roommates are picked off one by one when they enter a house that thirsts for blood and control.

That’s it. That’s all you get. I can’t really go into more detail because it could give it away. But also it would only confuse you. Cook knows what the hell he’s doing, I can tell you that much. The sex is sexing, the blood is blooding, and the confusion is confusioning. Trust me, it will all make sense after you listen to it.

Narrated by Jim Patton, you will do yourself such a disservice if you only read it. Patton takes you into the house and forces you to watch as these terrible things happen, one right after the other. His voice changes are just as bizarre and unnerving as the book itself and that’s a compliment, I promise.

A HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5/5

Horrifying, Poignant and Vicious

A supernatural horror story told from a unique and domineering perspective. Death, torture, fear, and loss infest this home and those who step inside. No one is untarnished that enters and if they can leave, they leave more tarnished than before. Evilness comes in many degrees as is experienced by the teller of this horror story!

The author, Garrett Cook, skillfully paints the narrative with bold strokes and intricate detail. The narrative is told from a unique perspective that is self-serving and places the listener in the front-row seat to witness manipulation, cruelty, and darkly violent, destructive forces. The dialogue is gripping, and the violence is extreme and vividly detailed. He presents a world devoid of happiness, joy, hope, or normalcy. Instead, everything and everyone is steeped in darkness, cruelty, despair, and viciousness. This is a book that could be triggering for many as it details rape, torture, and extreme violence. The plot twists are shocking; each character is well-developed at the end.

The narrator, Jim Patton, provides a sound performance with deliberate pauses and steady delivery. He speaks clearly and smoothly. His voice provides the balance necessary to stay grounded and avoid getting lost in the violence of the narrative.

This book reveals how dangerous selfishness, harm, and malice can be. This is an intense and violent horror with shocking plot twists that will leave the reader wide-eyed. Though I enjoy horror, this book leans heavily into the slasher, cut-em-up genre with its graphic and vivid details.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.

Unique Haunting Story

When I started this one I had absolutely no idea what to expect as I went in completely blind. I realized pretty quickly that it was going to be more explicit than my typical horror reads, but I continued listening because the story was intriguing and the narrator, Jim Patton, was fun to listen to.

I enjoyed the fact that the story told is told from a unique perspective (being intentionally vague to avoid possible spoilers). The story explored some dark areas, and the explicit scenes are graphic, but overall it’s mild compared to a lot of extreme horror.

A gory character study…

Let me start by saying that if you have a weak stomach or get queasy at lots of violence, sex, sexual assault, and gore, this book is probably not for you.

The premise is simple: it’s a haunted house/possession story, told from the perspective of the haunted house itself as it plays with those it has already possessed, and as it tries to possess a newcomer within its walls. It’s an interesting take on the genre. There’s a lot of sex (both consensual and non-consensual), violence, and gore in the story because the house delights and revels in agony.

The story is decently paced, keeping the reader engaged in the story while wondering what will happen next. It does drag on in a few places, but overall it’s good.

At its heart, it’s a character story: the characters, including the house itself, possess deep personal hurts and flaws. Moreover, they exist in states of perpetual self-denial, preferring to exist in their own realities rather than confronting and conquering their ills and moving on. This makes the characters perfect prey for the sadistic haunted house to nurture and amplify their pain so as to possess them. It also affects the house, but you’ll have to listen to understand what I mean.

The narrator does a good job conveying the houses’s sadism, and each character’s pain and anguish in turn. The delivery is slightly atonal, which adds an off-putting edge to the story that shows the inhumanity inherent to the house and the damaged characters as well.

Brilliantly bizarre

Uniquely, written, and unsettling. This will stick with you for a while.
This was such a trip the best way I could describe it would be a psychological,, erotic extreme horror.
Jim does a fantastic job with the audiobook, and I think this is the best way to experience it.
If you’re looking for something to challenge you and be satisfied in the end, this is it 5stars

Unique Haunted House

This particular book is...alot. I was eager to begin reading/listening to it bc the synopsis really grabbed my attention. A haunted House told from the perspective of the house itself?! Yes, Sign me up.

Overall though, I didn't love the storyline. There was ALOT of crazy sex and sometimes I got really lost on what was even happening. I will definitely say though that the gore was impressive, some fascinating and crazy scenes!

The narrator was fantastic though. He did an absolutely phenomenal job. His voice was unnerving in the best of ways

There is an audience for this

It's just not me. The story, or rather the collection of gratuitous and depraved debauchery is loosely tied together as a haunted house, when it's really just an omniscient 3rd person POV. For me this wasn't horrifying, it was just depraved.

just bad

the writing is just confusing. the book basically opens with a gross out SA scene. I feel like I should not only get a refund. I should be compensated for being subjected to this poorly written, poorly narrated trash
