You first met this warrior in the time travel paranormal romance series Order of the Dragon Knights, Dragon Knight's Axe, book 3.
Irish warrior Desmond O'Quinlan has never surrendered his heart to any woman. He has no wish to have his soul tortured by love. Yet the moment he locks gazes with Ailsa, his fate is destined for an adventure he never fathomed. He may have battled alongside a Dragon Knight, but his greatest challenge will come from within his own heart.
Ailsa MacDuff, a warrior among her clan, has no desire to have a man chain her to a life of obedience. However, that is before she meets Desmond. The temptation to allow this warrior inside her heart is a risk she dares to take, but one that could lead to a future of emptiness and sorrow.
When betrayal looms from within, the battleground of love is no match for these two warriors. Can the power of a Highland full moon be strong enough to unite or destroy them?

Ailisa and her father begin the sad journey to fulfill her mother's last wish. To take her ashes to the lock and the last great dragon. It is a dangerous journey in the winter weather and storm. The one good thing for Ailisa is the delay of her father announcing who she must marry to prepare for when she takes over the leadership of their Isle. It isn't that she is opposed to a husband, but she wants one that she loves and desires not who will try to wrest leadership from her and one she can't stand to have touch her.
Desmond visits his sister and sees the kind of love and feelings she has for her husband (despite the differences he has with the Dragon Knight). He doesn't want a wife. He's never felt that way about any woman—until the beautiful, wounded woman takes him on. She's come for help after being sent away by her father to find help. She'd rather have stayed to do battle, however, their party is badly outnumbered and what they plan for her is not just a battle.
Desmond convinces her he will help them and sends for help before going with her. She didn't show her own injuries until she falls unconscious. Once Desmond has her in his arms he begins to understand feeling more for a woman.
The two have all the feelings both would want in a partner but they live far away from each other and are returning to their separate homes too soon. He doesn't feel worthy of being a leader. Her husband should be one of her own from the Isle.
They try to ignore their feelings for all the reasons they should but both now understand the feelings of love they see in others. Will unknown dangers take her from him?
The audio is so good with the Scottish narrator who does a great job. The story is a combination of magic and history as well as a beautiful love with strong characters and plenty of steam. Fans get to visit with old friends from previous stories although they are good to see again, the book does stand alone. I strongly recommend this book and all the others in her series.

Narrator: Mr. Fox does not perform the story as much as he reads the story. However, Ms. Morgan’s stories, including this one, are well worth tolerating a poor to fair narrator. Many authors are limited in their selection of narrators due to their publishers. I highly recommend these publishers become much more selective in contracting narrators. I still highly recommend this audiobook.
