About this listen

Dr. Janice Thornton has been lonely for too long, especially at Christmas. But Angel Ridge, Tennessee, the one place that holds the key to what family should be, is offering her a chance at a new life. Could she find happiness by taking over her uncle's small-town practice?

Local contractor and carpenter Blake Ferguson comes from a big family. He'd like to fill his rambling old Victorian with one of his own. But there's one problem. He needs a wife! When Janice shows up at his house, Blake sets a course to win her, but soon finds she's built a wall around her heart this master carpenter finds difficult to dismantle.

Can the magic of an Angel Ridge Christmas bring hearts home or will old hurts create an obstacle even the town's legendary angels can't overcome?

Love a Christmas story

Would you listen to A Home for Christmas again? Why?

Maybe. Might listen every year or two.

Would you recommend A Home for Christmas to your friends? Why or why not?

Probably. I especially like Christmas stories that I can listen to or watch every year to get into the season.

What does Julie Williams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The accents are pretty good. I hate an obviously fake southern accent as I've lived in the south for most of my life. She does a pretty good job of it. Emotion in the voice really makes the story come alive more than words on a page do.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't know, but it would probably be something about not losing hope waiting for love.

Any additional comments?

Story is just a little sappy, especially at the end. But I do love a good Christmas story. And people who are really into romance will love it.

Christmas in July!

If you could sum up A Home for Christmas in three words, what would they be?

It's about 100 degrees outside and I just needed a touch of Christmas NOW. This story could almost be my life story. I want to visit Angel Ridge! You could almost smell the homemade biscuits.

What did you like best about this story?

Very description. Nails what life is like in the south, esp. during the holidays. Really spells out what really matters.

Have you listened to any of Julie Williams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Have not heard her audio books before. She seems to understand the personalities of strong women from the south and painted the story perfectly. Nice job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Angel Ridge reminded me a lot of my small hometown. Almost made me homesick. Just hearing the descriptions warmed my heart.

Any additional comments?

Sweet story. Thanks! Will look up more from this author.
