About this listen

Return to Lilac for a sweet Christmas romance that will warm your heart.

Reporter Marla Norquist was planning to spend Christmas alone in the city until a mysterious tip about a secret celebrity wedding sends her to Lilac. She expects to encounter tight-lipped residents who want to protect the happy couples’ privacy - not angels, a ghost, and a handsome guy involved in a ransomware scandal!

When identity theft turns digital currency investor Jacob Reed’s life upside down, he hopes to lay low during the holidays while authorities sort things out. When Marla reveals she knows about both the scandal and his brother’s secret celebrity wedding, Jacob attempts to distract her from publishing either story. Can three mischievous angels and a meddlesome ghost convince Jacob and Marla to put aside their suspicions and discover the true meaning of Christmas?

Really fun story!

I listened to the audio version of this really cute, sweet and clean novella. It's usually hard to get as much character development in novellas as Pamela Ferguson was able to provide. I felt like I had insight into the characters personalities that made the story a success for me.

Marla is a reporter that isn't sneaky of underhanded in what she does to get her stories. She's pretty much a "what you see is what you get" kind of woman. She's kind and willing to do whatever she can to help people out. Jacob his a part of both the stories that Marla is working, which should be enough to make him keep his distance from her. But that just might not be the case!

The narration by Stephanie Dillard was very good and I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook.

I was gifted a copy of this via the author. All thoughts are my own.

Sweet Christmas Story with ‘Spirit’ 4.5 Stars

I enjoyed the uniqueness, the couple who got married, the small town people in Lilac, and the way eyes can be opened and how pain from the past can impact the present when ignored
I did have a bit of a problem with Marlas mother, not a bad person but pretty selfish and no true self awareness
Really always enjoy the down home real people feel to Pamela Ferguson’s books
I received a free audiobook for an honest and voluntary review

Instalove

This book was more about the Christmas ghosts and solving the mystery than about the romance between the two characters. it was a good story and short, it just was more of an instalove book because the characters got there too quick without much relationship development.

Great Read

A Little Christmas Spirit (Lilac #7) was a great read by Pamela Ferguson. Marla Norquist is a reporter that panned to spend Christmas alone until a mysterious tip about a celebrity wedding sends her to Lilac. She never expected to find angels, a ghost, and a handsome guy that is involved in a ransomware scandal. Jacob Reed’s life is turned upside down with identity theft. He just wants to lay low during the holidays while the authorities sort things out. Marla reveals that she knows about the scandal and his brother’s secret wedding. He tries to distract her from publishing either story. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Cute novella to kick off your holiday season!

A surprise wedding, a cyberattack scandal, ghosts of Christmas?? Not exactly what reporter, Marla Norquist envisioned when she arrived at the town of Lilac. Throw in a grumpy techie, who’s temporarily running his brother’s hardware store and we have quite an adventure. Adorable story with an equally ‘awww-inspiring’ ending. Worth the listen!

Charming!

Pamela Ferguson's stories set in the community of Lilac are heartwarming, witty, intelligent and always clean. I have enjoyed every one of them that I've read and listened to, but A Little Christmas Spirit didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's a lovely story with a secret celebrity wedding, a cryptocurrency and ransomware scandal, angels, a ghost, discoveries of lost and found families and identity theft. There are too many storylines going on at once and it was hard to keep them straight. It resembled an info dump within a single plot. It was definitely well-written and the narration was exceptional!

Enjoyed!

Enjoyed this story! Marla was a reporter sniffing out a lead that sent her in several different directions. First the story of a wedding, then a stolen identity, then genealogy of the local Inn. I would have given 5 stars, but I just didn't like what the wedding represented, it really wasn't necessary to be a great story. The narrator did a wonderful job!

Another Delightfully Sweet Lilac Story & Listen🎧

Pamela Ferguson pens another enjoyable small town romance set in her “Lilac” series and she adds a wonderful angelic and ghostly spin to the story. Marla Norquist, a reporter, gets an anonymous tip about a celebrity wedding that sends her to Lilac to find out more and she gets a whole more than she bargained for. They did not exactly welcome her with open arms at first, thinking she was there for celebrity gossip, but once she proved otherwise, they gave her a room at the Inn, an inn that is haunted. Jacob Reed missed his brother’s wedding, but he returned to Lilac to fill in for him at the hardware store so he can go on a honeymoon. He was not expecting to run into a lawyer who knows the dilemma he was in with the law. He is reluctant to talk to her at first, but she is not your typical cut throat reporter, plus she knows how to fix a cash register, something he was struggling with at the store. This is a cute story and like the rest of the books in the series, it is well written and well told, each book is a standalone so there is no need to have read any of the other books to enjoy this one though I recommend them all. Pamela Ferguson thank you for another fabulous story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Stephanie Dillard is the perfect narrator to bring these characters and story to life. She has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, does an excellent job covering both the male and female roles, giving each a voice that suits that character, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. This talented narrator and a versatile voice artist is an entertaining storyteller and are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
