About this listen
While investigating the wrongful incarceration of a young man for murder, Holmes uncovers a tangled web of deception—and makes one misstep with tragic consequences.
Long the chronicler and companion of Sherlock Holmes, Dr. John H. Watson has frequently helped his friend investigate mysterious circumstances on behalf of those people beset by them, but now he must apply to Sherlock Holmes himself to unravel a baffling incident of his own.
In another case, Holmes is engaged by Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard to uncover a killer who committed a brazen act of murder before hundreds of witnesses, not one of whom can identify him.
And, lastly, Holmes is hired on Boxing Day by eight-year-old Christopher Baker to find his sister’s doll, which was stolen from under their tree before his family could unwrap their presents on Christmas morning. But is there more to this inexplicable and seemingly simple incident than is immediately apparent?
A mistake, two incidents, and a murder combine to provide four satisfying entries in detection that are sure to entertain and surprise those who follow the exploits of Sherlock Holmes and John H. Watson—and even those who don’t.

A weathered Cornish sailor has come to 221B Baker Street to see Sherlock Holmes. A plain envelope addressed to Mr. Sherlock Holmes has been delivered to 221B Baker Street. The stock is cheap and could have been purchased at any general shop. The hand, however, is rare for its graceful sweep and regularity. “A true technician,” Holmes noted. “Mr. Holmes,” it begins. “You don’t know me and I am a man of no importance to anyone except my employer, and he couldn’t function without my services. My only significance to you, Sir, lies in the fact that I mean to kill. Only a few additional clews for the great man are in order. I live in Whitechapel and have done ...

Very nice change of pace. Nice to read one book every now and then to have Holmes actually be a good guy ( even if he is fictional.)

Couldn't tell it was AI
these stories were unique with good mysteries.I was very impressed with the virtual voice,I usually don't listen to AI narrated stories, but this was stupendous, the tone, inflection, proper pauses, so good I just kept listening. I highly recommend if you enjoy Holmes type stories, solid mysteries still in line w Watson and Holmes manners, great narration. I'm adding this to my library to come back to for my nightly listens .Give it a chance

another good "Holmes"
like how lestraude is presented. stories are reasonable and plausible. while virtual voice gets the job done, a real narrator with good cadence would improve this

SH cannon used wisely thru the guise of JHW
British accents/inflections would make it even more "authentic" though the masculine reading voice is easy to follow.

Virtual voice disappointing
This production made me realize how much a good narrator adds to a story and characterization. So much was missing with this one. The virtual voice provided very little difference between character voices, inflection that didn't match the words spoken and no regional accents. It was very strange to hear Holmes and Watson speaking with one bland American voice.
