About this listen

For widow Rose Raber, it's been a year of tragic loss and difficult decisions. She thought providing for her young daughter was the greatest challenge she faced. Until her dying mother revealed that Rose was adopted - and her birth mother is someone with much to lose if the secret comes out. As Rose struggles to reconcile the truth with her faith - and her troubling curiosity - outgoing newcomer Matthias Wagler is another surprise she didn't expect. His optimism and easy understanding inspires her. And his prospective partnership with wealthy deacon Saul Hartzler promises a possible new life for them - together. But with this second chance comes yet another revelation for all involved.

When Saul's wife unexpectedly turns up at Rose's new job, their bond as mother and daughter is instant and unmistakable. And it isn't long before an unforgiving Saul discovers the truth, threatening Matthias's livelihood and Rose's future. Now with more than just their happiness at stake, Rose and Matthias must find the strength and courage to stand strong - and trust God's enduring miracles of motherhood, forgiveness, and love.

ANOTHER GREAT BOOK

What made the experience of listening to A Mother’s Love the most enjoyable?

I love how Charlotte wrote in characters from the the previous series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Grace is my favorite. How she sees things.

What does Susan Boyce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Susan Boyce is the voice of all of Charlotte's characters for me. She is WONDERFUL. She gives each character their own unique tone and pitch. They come alive. I love her work, she very gifted.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Saul accepted Grace.

Great Story

Great story of a Mother's undying love of her child.
This also leaves you wanting more, or a sequel of the characters lives.

This is an awesome book that portrays the power of love and forgiveness.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is an awesome story that portrays the power of love and forgiveness. It also shows the powerful love that a mother can have for her child even if it means to give them up. I rejoice at their miraculous reunion, referring to Rose and Ann. I rejoiced while reading through their trial and their reconciliation with Saul. You will find this story both lovely and powerful.

A Truly Well-Written, Uplifting Story!

Charlotte Hubbard, imo, writes the best, most heartfelt Amish fiction out there. Every book of hers leaves me with my heart wide open, and with the feelings of joy & hope coursing thru me. I know that these books often idealize the Amish way of life, so I definitely do not want to do that myself....but the one thing I DO envy is their deep sense of family & community. And that is precisely depicted in all of Charlotte Hubbard's works. Everything I have read of hers holds this special magic of moving the reader/listener & reminding us, whether Amish or not, what truly matters in the human journey. (I have listened to ALL but 1 of her books that are available on Audible).

Beautiful story.

I enjoyed this sweet story about the love of an adoptive mother and a birth mother for their daughter, and the beautiful way love and forgiveness can bless a family.
