Publisher's summary

It is no secret that our world desperately needs change. Politicians know this and use it to collect votes. Journalists exploit it to sell newspapers and magazines. Advertisers, to sell everything else. Each of these groups (and countless others) spend their lives working to convince others that they hold the key to a better country, a better life, a better future. But what exactly is this change we all long for? And how can it ever come about?

A Primer on Worship and Reformation proposes that true change begins, not with a process or an idea, but through faithful worship. To witness true global change - true reformation - we must first pray the Lord that we would see worship at the center of life. The truth is that when the Word is faithfully preached, even the gates of hell tremble. When the Psalms are sung, the meek inherit the earth. When the church celebrates at the Lord's Table, those who mourn are comforted.

If we learn these lessons and believe them to be true, we will find that through renewed worship God brings change to every facet of our lives.

For the Calvinist that Craves Sacramental Worship

Recommended by a Wilsonite friend. Definitely makes the case for High Church worship. Not exactly what I expected, especially the advocacy for paedocommunion. Nevertheless a good book to understand Wilsonism.

A Desperate Need in the Church Today

Worship is a direct reflection of how we see the God we're worshipping. A true reformation of theology will be a reformation of worship. Pastor Wilson addresses this subject in a way that has completely transformed my church, and no doubt, many others. Mr. Bradley reads quite slowly which is no issue. Speeding the audio up to ×1.75 is perfect. Still giving the performance 5 stars was based on perfect Latin pronunciation. I only wish the this writing was longer and there were others like it. Favorite Pastor Wilson book yet!

Good Intro

Wilson provides a helpful introduction to reformed worship. He acutely diagnoses problems with modern evangelical worship and offers up an alternative that he believes is based in more scriptural worship practices.
There were three or four times when the readers repeated a line twice, but this wasn’t really a distraction at all.
