About this listen

A Progressive's Case for Bitcoin is for everyone who is starting to learn about Bitcoin, and wants to understand the reality behind the buzz. Exploring the value proposition of Bitcoin through a progressive lens, Maier's book explores why Bitcoin is good for the environment, how it helps poor and marginalized communities, and why Bitcoin serves as a protest against too-big-to-fail banks: all the people-centric reasons Bitcoin was created in the first place.

This inspirational listen, which requires no background knowledge, is a great starting point for anyone who is curious about Bitcoin beyond the boundaries of western privilege, clickbait headlines, and social media chatter.

Narrator reads without pausing across the breaks and sounds like an AI.

the book says something like:

And that's how we got here (break)

A WAY FORWARD

In July of 1996...

The narrator reads it as:

And that's how we got here. A way forward in July of 1996...It makes the book difficult to follow at times.

Needs a Better Narrator

Great book that covered the societal benefits of bitcoin. Highly recommend! I read this along with Broken Money and am convinced bitcoin is a key component to reduce wealth inequality in the world

This book looks at the problems the world faces at a different way and explains a more fair and equitable future we could have if we look outside the current system that favors the people who are closest to those that can create money.
If you want change this book does a great job of one way of achieving it.

A must read for any progressive looking to make a difference

This is now officially my favorite book for introducing people to Bitcoin. Jason has produced something that is truthful, heartfelt and accessible. My only disappointment with this audio version was, frankly, the narrator. His diction and enunciation of words leaves something to be desired. I found myself having to rewind to re-listen to words I couldn’t catch because they were poorly pronounced. I ended up listening at .9x and that helped. That aside, the content is really good and overall it’s an excellent addition to the Bitcoin Canon. : )

Truly Excellent
