Publisher's summary
Penny Nichols has the London apartment, the classic cat, the villa in France, the fabulous bank account, and the great guy to share them all with. So everything's perfect, right? Er, well...Pennies, nickels....
Pursued by gigolos, gold diggers, an ex-wife, and highly aggressive salesmen, all chasing after their millions, freelancer-turned-heiress Penny Nichols and her boyfriend, Jeremy, decide to take a whole summer off and sock away most of their inheritance. But they allow themselves one big splurge from their wish list - and that's where all the trouble begins....and a boatload of secrets.
At an auction on the French Riviera, Penny and Jeremy win much more than they bargain for, as they uncover a centuries-old rivalry involving the theft of a strange, priceless treasure linked to Beethoven's Germany. Investigating everything from a 1920s yacht on the Mediterranean, to the legendary superstitionsof the island of Corsica, right up to a castle on Lake Como, Italy, Penny and Jeremy track down a mysterious elderly count whose fractured memory may hold the key piece of this fascinating historical puzzle.

Mystery, Adventure and a Cozy Romance on a Yacht...involving a lion?
Ok, my title is meant to get a response of, “Wait...what?!”
This a satisfying 2nd installment in the the Rather Trilogy. Katherine Kellgren’s most engaging performance brings the story to life, and definitely adds that extra pizzazz!
As I was hoping from the first story, we get to know our main adventurers- Penny and Jeremy, much better is this book.
Although there are some predictable plot points, there are also a few unexpected twists that keep the reader/listener engaged. The descriptions of the yacht and the scenery are quite vivid, making me want to be on lake Como and in Italy on a cruise! You have to listen to find out about the “lion”....
I enjoyed the book and look forward to the final installment.

Surprisingly Good
I enjoyed the first book but I didn't think the second one would be as good because there is no murder. However, it has an entertaining and funny plot and likable characters. I will probably read the next book just because I like the characters and the shenanigans they get into.

I LOVE this trilogy❣️
I re-listen to this trilogy at least once a year when my life is hectic and I need a relaxing, easy listen that’s interesting with a sprinkle of art and and history……and a good story.
Katherine Kelgren is my all time favorite narrator.

Love The Narrator
I found this series by looking for what books KK read. I enjoyed this book. It is nice to have a light read from time to time and that has humour.

Plot fizzles
<spoiler warning> The story is entertaining and there are promises of intrigue and danger but those promises go unfulfilled. The ultimate plot twist is a big nothing burger. The spy/mystery gives way to another antique find (see first book) of insignificance leaving the reader saying,”that’s it?”
