About this listen

When true love meets dark secrets, which side will win? Don’t miss this fan favorite from New York Times best-selling author Brenda Jackson.

Finding a soul mate was the easy part for Erica Sanders. Brian Lawson is everything she could have dreamed of and then some. Everyone agrees...everyone, that is, except for her own mother, who delights in uncovering Brian’s betrayal that implodes everything and destroys their engagement. Yet Erin has lingering doubts over her choice. What if there were more secrets, ones that changed everything?

A chance meeting proves the passion between Brian and Erica hasn’t dimmed - but neither has the determination of others to keep them apart. But as startling layers of deception are brought to light, Erica and Brian find themselves caught between the bonds of the past and an uncertain future. Masterfully told with the sensuality and drama that Brenda Jackson does best, this is an unforgettable story of relationships at their most complex and how hard it can be to choose between living separate lives or holding fast when love hangs by a silken thread.

Riveting Storline

This story showed great depth of thought. I typical listen to Ms. J series books but this was a great change. The storyline still held those passionate moments that Ms. J captures so well. The only distraction was the narrator voice it worked for Karen but not the other characters. Another great work!

A Silken Web

I am Brenda Jackson fan and feel this is one of her best works. I loved the Diva devilishly enthralled background that had romantic and erotic storyline. Reminded me of a soap opera like Dallas. The narrator always carries a story through and didn't disappoint this time. Well done.

Good story!

This is my second time listening to this book. The narration change made it sound like a new book. Good move. The last one was nearly unbearable

Good Story

This was a good story however the narrator should not have been chosen for this story. Her voice was entirely too mature for this book. It was hard to listen to her narrate the sex scenes.

Narration...

by grandma's voice. It was very irritating. I started to return it, but I pushed through. Good story, though.

High Society Won’t Help

Family members can be your worst enemies. All come out in the wash. Having someone to have your back and a little faith is all needed.

Now this is more like it....

I am so happy that Harper audio re-did this book. The story was so great and the new narrator made it so much better. The original narrator was great on other books and I wonder how she blew this one. Such a great BSJ book, thanks Ms. J.

Narrator was not a good fit at all

I likes the story line even if it was predictable but the narrator was a bad fit.

Narrator

The narrator was terrible, but the storyline was great. I wish the delivery was better would’ve given it 4/5 stars.
