About this listen

The United States Army drafted Steve in 1969. Like many young men, he was unaware of the consequences of being drafted until being sent to Vietnam. Although his father was also drafted into the Armed Forces for World War II, nothing could have prepared Steve for the year of duty to come. Growing up in a large family, he developed a talent early on for storytelling. His accounts of Vietnam will have you imagining him sitting across a campfire telling his story. Military & War

since my husband is a Vietnam Vet, it's important to me to hear the stories of others. it helps me understand him and the world at the time.
it's a bit irritating to have the artificial person reading because it cannot differentiate different words that are spelled the same.

Great short stories. you can learn a lot here.

Great book! it will not disappoint. he makes you laugh, feel the suspense, sadness. all while painting a picture you visualize every word like you're there with him. thank you for your service and welcome home!

The content was excellent. the reader was distractingly poor. Even the non military words were mispronounced and the cadence was low budget.

This first person account is one of the best I have read on Vietnam. As a cold war retired grunt myself I can attest to the craziness that serving in the Infantry is. In Vietnam it had to be totally nuts and this book proves that. I could not stop listening to it. Worth putting into your library.

Awesome grunts eye view in the field

Welcome Home Vietnam Vets, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ definitely worth reading. keeps a reader/listener interested the entire time

virtual voice was pretty good, but the pronunciation of some simple words was annoying.

I have listened to alot of Vietnam memoirs. The virtual narrator is a little awkward at 1st but not bad. Regardless of that this has been one the best I have listened to. Great writing by the author. Amazing book, I highly recommend.

Very good book
