About this listen

Since failing to break up her best friend's marriage and fleeing Los Angeles, Jasmine is a changed woman and a Christian. She vows to attend church every Sunday, swears off married men, and begins her search for the soul mate she is sure God has on hold for her. Now living in the Big Apple, she has shed 25 pounds, shaved 10 years off her age, and filled her expensive apartment with designer clothes, all to begin her man-finding mission.

She quickly meets her dream mate, a preacher, who falls head over heels in love with her. Surely, God is good! But things start slipping when another man from Jasmine's past refuses to stay there and an unexpected pregnancy threatens to sabotage all of her dreams. Will Jasmine's lying and scheming continue, or will she finally learn that honesty is the only path to redemption?

Sounds like it is being read from a empty room.

I hate the background sound. Sounds like its being read from a empty room. But I overall think the book wasn't that bad.

Excellent book, horrible performance

The reader really took away from this good book and backstory of infamous Jasmine Larson Bush. However, the performance should be re-recorded with another reader.

The narration was cringe worthy!

First, I would like to say that I love Victoria Christopher Murray's books and the overall presence of God, scripture, and drama in her stories; however, the narrator and lack of narration editing made it difficult to get into the book. The ending was also a bit dull but overall the book was decent; not as good as the last three (including the prequel) in the 'Jasmine Series'. Still very entertaining and drama packed!

Good story, terrible narrator!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator, she sounded like she had never read a book professionally before. There was a lot of stutter-starting and misreading the way the sentences are supposed to read.

Any additional comments?

I read a sequel prior to this book, so I wanted to listen to more of the story. I liked the storyline, and the drama, but the narrator really took away from the story.

I loved the story but the narrator was horrible

I love the Jasmine Larson book series but Monalisa Wilson was a horrible narrator. I thought I was back in high school and the teacher has asked someone to read. I will have to read the actual book.

Good story/Bad narration

If you can get pass the bad narrator, it’s actually a good story that keeps your interest in the characters and wanting to know what’s going to happen next

Story, phenomenal! Audio, trash!

The book itself is a fantastic read. The narrator and the quality of this audio is the worst I've EVER heard and I've been listening to audio books for at least a score! Far too many run on sentence and pauses in the middle of sentences. I truly felt like a 5th grader was reading out loud, a book they have never read before. So many times I wanted to stop the audio and purchase a hard copy to just read on my own. The great story line is the only thing that kept me going. I pray none of her other books are read by this reader. My advice is to get a hard copy (so worth it) or read from a device that does their own auto reading.
