About this listen

In this emotionally charged and inspiring novel about a love triangle, secrets between best friends threaten to blow up friendships and a marriage - and change lives forever.

When Miriam's fireman husband, Chauncey, dies while rescuing students from a school fire, Miriam feels like her life is over. How is she going to raise her three children all by herself? How will she survive without the love of her life? Luckily, Miriam's sister-friend Emily and Emily's husband, Jamal, are there to comfort her. Jamal and Chauncey grew up together and were best friends; Jamal and Emily know they will do all they can to support Miriam through her grief. Jamal steps in and helps Miriam with the funeral arrangements and with her children, plus he gives her hope that she has a future. But all the time that they spend together - grieving, sharing, and reminiscing - brings the two closer in ways they never planned...

First Time Reading A Book by This Author

This story developed really well, but the main character Miriam is delusional. I understand her being in pain and I even get how she and Jamal started an affair. After things blow up though, I don't see how she was thinking she and Jamal could be a couple.

Not much to write home about.

Decent start but the book started to waver in the middle. There were a number of interesting options for the ending unfortunately the author didn't seek any of those.

Thought provoking

This is truly eye opening, A question … would you or wouldn’t you?!

My first thought was to say I wouldn’t but as the title states “Never say never”!

Morally, I don’t think I could but emotionally I don’t know. It has made me think about the younger me and the situations I have been in! The so called big brothers, I have had in my life and the friendships I didn’t want to cross the line. I had been even envious of their girlfriends.

Ms. Murray wrote a very good book about relationships and boundaries… thought provoking! This is a story, I found myself on an emotional roller coaster.

Spellbinding

I was totally into this story. Loved all of it. The only flaw for me was the narrators voice for Jamal, it just didn’t work at all. Other than that again this was a great book.

Good Story

It Was A good story but hard to finish. The Description Was Different From The Story. Not At All What I expected. I thought it was something totally different than what it was.
Overall I like it.

You’re right “never say never”

What life have in sore for us? We’ll never know unless we take a leap of faith or challenge that put before us. The problem is when we become too greedy or self absorbed or when we got caught. And that was the case of Miriam and Jamal. Men will always be men. But a woman disrespecting another woman marriage, when they know the values of love that one best friend marriage regardless of the pain one face is just unjustified, but then again never say never; life is an abyss.
Great read...really enjoyed it. Thank for an amazing story

As much as I didn't want to like it.. I loved it!

I just couldn't understand Miriam's thought process, but I have also never experienced that kind of grief. At times I would shut off the book, because what she was doing to her best friend was not right. But I had to know what happened. This book was well written and the narrators were excellent.

Long drawn out storylines

Enjoyed book overall. The book started out really slow, didn’t think i would finish it but my ocd kept me listening. Seems like it was stretched out unnecessarily. I didn’t like the women narration for men’s voices. Just add a man narrator. I loved the sisterhood bond the main characters had. I appreciate the inside perspective of grief and how common reassurance possibly fall on deaf ears if not backed up with action. I would recommend with a warning.
