About this listen

Mack Dalton has named plenty of murderers since she and her barstool detectives began cracking cold cases. But as a new year looms, time is ticking on the hunt for her craftiest villain yet....

As Milwaukee counts down to New Year's Eve, bar owner Mackenzie "Mack" Dalton has but one resolution - unmask the dangerous mastermind who has been taunting her and killed bouncer Gary Gunderson. Mack and her fellow barflies have fleshed out a suspect and arranged an invite-only party to put a cork in the murderer's game for good.

But when the clock strikes midnight and their suspect is found cold and stiff on the basement stairs, it seems the celebration may have come too soon. Now Mack must rely on her special talents to find the real criminal among the crowd of revelers - or someone won't survive until last call....

As endings go this was a good one! Not an ending that you think will happen, but it really came together!

The story keeps you guessing til the end. I wish the author didn't need to explain everything so much. It takes away from the storyline.

Loving this series

Please keep going!! I don’t care what the negative reviews say, These books keep me interested from beginning to end and wanting soooo much more! They seriously keep my mind intrigued and I can’t guess the culprit the end…which I usually can. I seriously need more!!!!

Wow, excellent conclusion for the capture of the letter writer! Really made you suspicious of so many of the characters.

I have enjoyed all the stories and characters in this series and I look forward to the next book.

Great story

I enjoy this series. I was a little disappointed they did not have a secondary mystery the Capone Club worked on while the primary ongoing mystery was taking place, but I enjoyed seeing the 3 book mystery with the letter writer finally end. There were of threads tied up with past and ongoing issues and hopefully that will allow the characters growth in upcoming stories.

Good book but a little different from the prior ones in the series.

the toast of murder is a wrap up of continuing of several books prior. quite a good read. the person that did the crime wasn't who I thought it would have been. and it was quite good
