Publisher's summary

A gifted communicator gives practical and biblical guidance to women of all ages in how to choose their words wisely and use their influence for the good of others. Women have a way with words. A woman’s strength, influence, and ability to change the world for better—in every season and in every relationship—lies in the words she speaks each day. But with that God-given power comes the need to use it wisely, and this book provides both biblical and practical guidance to that end.

In A Way with Words, author and veteran speaker Christin Ditchfield challenges women to embrace God’s gift of words and to think carefully about how they use it. She looks at 12 timeless principles as she calls all women to examine their hearts, recognize when words are their “weapon of choice”, and learn how to steward this blessing to bring life, healing, and encouragement. Each chapter includes wisdom from influential women throughout history and a Bible study for individuals and small groups.

Borderline Obnoxious

Would you try another book from Christian Ditchfield and/or Christian Ditchfield?

Probably not. I would have to be convinced somehow.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something from a different author/speaker.

How could the performance have been better?

This woman's voice really irritated me. I don't normally feel that way, actually, I'm usually very patient with this kind of thing... But there was something, the pitch, the way she reads, the rhythm that just all felt completely off putting.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Annoyance and disappointment. I wanted much more content. A lot of this was regurgitated things that you should generally already know.

Ex: Gossip hurts people, we all say things we don't mean, words are powerful good or bad.

I was expecting something so much richer than this and had high hopes at first. As the content went on as uninformative, and her voice started to get on my nerves I just couldn't take it.

Any additional comments?

I almost finished this book. Tried about 5 times and just decided that I was getting absolutely nothing inspiring or useful out of it.
