About this listen

In Isabella Bradford’s enthralling new trilogy, three noble brothers - London’s most scandalous rakes - are about to do the unthinkable: settle down. Harry Fitzroy, Earl of Hargreave, is the first to meet his match and lose his heart...to a lady who’s not all what he expected. As the eldest son of the Duke of Breconridge, Harry Fitzroy is duty-bound to marry - and marry well. Giving up his rakish ways for the pleasures of a bride’s bed becomes a delightful prospect when Harry chooses beautiful Lady Julia Barclay, the catch of the season. But a fall from his horse puts a serious crimp in his plans. Abandoned by Julia before he can propose, the unlucky bachelor finds himself trapped in the country in the care of Julia’s younger sister. Harry has never met a woman like Lady Augusta. Utterly without artifice, Gus is clever and capable, and seems to care not a fig for society. After a taboo kiss awakens passion that takes them both by surprise, Harry realizes he’d almost given his heart to the wrong sister. While London tongues wag, he’ll use his most seductive powers of persuasion to convince the reluctant Gus that she belongs with him - as his equal, his love, his wife.

Well written. Really needed a good love story.
Looking forward to listening to the other books in the series.

Happy read.

It's a nice storyline and a sweet book, but maby a not too sweet. The love between the characters are sometimes too much.

Maby a bit too sweet.

this story was very sweet and intriguing I can't wait to listen to the next one

Loved it

I love stories that include a selfish, spoiled sister who gets her just desserts. Add a tragic hero with way too much pride and an unappreciated heroine, and I'm happy as a clam.

I would have enjoyed it more with a better narrator. Not to say that this one was terrible, because she wasn't - but the best ones don't make you stop listening to the story because you've noticed the reader.

Will I listen to this again? Yes. Will I buy the rest of the series? Yes.

Narrow escape for the hero

huge fan of Derek Perkins as a performer. The storyline was okay. Whilst it was truly romantic it needed a little more spice... or a challenge of the sort.

Great performance... Okay storyline.

Maybe it's me, I just can't seem to find a
Good listen these days -- this is another in a list that I downloaded and couldn't finish. Got about halfway, and with many rewinds included, and realized that not only could i not concentrate on this story, but I don't even feel like I've missed anything! The narrator's voice makes me sleepy but otherwise could be ok if the story was more interesting. Can't bring myself to finish.

Boring -- both story and narrator

I think the biggest problem I had with this book was the narrator. While he is normally great for Highland novels and more Scottish brogues he is not good with the Standard English gentlemen. He made the male lead of the book sound like kind of a young wimpy teenage boy. I could never get interested in the romance it just wasn't that great of a book. I don't even think I want to listen to the rest in the series and that's definitely not my normal listening habit.

Just couldn't hold my attention.
