Publisher's summary

If 28-year-old Monique Morrison had only one wish, it would be to fall in love with a man sent from God; a man who will cherish her forever. But Monique makes a huge mistake when she chooses to help herself. Going against her Christian values, she decides to play house and move in with her musician boyfriend, Boris Cortland. Boris is in no hurry to get to the altar now that Monique has already signed on to play the role of a wife.

Though she's in church Sunday after Sunday, praying for God to touch Boris' heart and turn him from his wicked ways, it seems Monique's pleas are going unanswered. Suffering from neglect, rejection, and plenty of verbal abuse, Monique has all but given up on her dream of a relationship that represents unconditional love; that is, until Adonis Cortland moves in and does for Monique all of the things that Boris won't do. Could Boris' own cousin be the man Monique had been seeking?

Disappointed

The storyline was just okay. The reader for this book was horrible. Authors should do a better job selecting readers. She could not pronounce all the words correctly and I even heard background noises.

An ok book but needs new narrator

The book was not as great as I expected but I still enjoyed it for the most part. I could have enjoyed it more if there were a different narrator. It seemed as though the book described an specific age and ethnicity but the narrator was the opposite. Her voice just didn’t fit. It was like high school girls trying to play the role of mature women. Regardless, I listened to the entire book. The ending was a surprise but again not exciting.

Nothing

I enjoy all of her books, but the narrator in this book was awful! I couldn't finish this book because this reader lacked any kind of emotion as she read. She sounded robotic. Where is Patricia R Floyd? She should have read this book and I bet I would have enjoyed it more

Good story...horrible performance

The overall rating would have been much better if there had been a different narrator.

Tekela A

The narrator wasn’t the best at her tone. However, the plot and story line was good.

Phewwwww!!!

The storyline was decent and could have been enjoyable! This sweetie Christine the narrator make this EXTREMELY DIFFICULT too trudge through!!

Nikita, this is my very first of your books!! The craft is truly there, you just need a narrator to bring it to life.. that’s not this sweet sistahs gift!

Narrator ruined it

This book had the potential to be a 5 star but the narrators lackluster performance ruined. The pauses lack of enthusiasm and just the inability to bring the characters alive ruined. If you are using a credit for this book don’t get it. But if you are reading it through the escape then try and push through.

Loved the story

This book was so well written! I couldn't stop listening! Narration could have been better. So many pauses, clearing of the throat, incorrect pronunciation of words, and background noises distractions. But message of book was not lost. Aureka is the friend we all need in our lives.
