About this listen

Gabriel Garrett has seen it all.
War, hardship, and violence have chased him at every turn, but Gabriel has weathered every challenge. Now, however, he faces a battle far more dangerous than any he has endured.
Kidnapped by a ruthless gang, Gabriel finds himself in a fight for survival. Using his hard-earned skills and iron will, he manages to break free - only to stumble upon a conspiracy that threatens everything he has fought to protect.
A powerful cabal of conspirators lurks in the shadows, orchestrating a coup that could topple what remains of the federal government. Their plan is an attack so devastating it could plunge the fragile remnants of the Union into chaos.
Now, Gabriel finds himself in a race against time. He will need all of his resources and every one of his allies to unravel the conspiracy and stop the attack before it's too late. The fate of a nation hangs in the balance, and failure means devastation for all.
Action-packed and full of James N. Cook’s signature gritty realism and suspense, don’t miss this exciting tenth installment of the Surviving the Dead series!

Doesn’t disappoint!

Great continuation of the story. Enjoyed the progression of the characters and plot line as they move out of the crisis phase. Highly recommend.

You never fail

First I'd like to thank James for ananother incredible story, and Guy for lending his voice again to breath that life into it. Very happy how this book ended. always love to see Gabe's never ending tool box of life lessons help him in the majority of situations he gets him self into. I'm sad to see the characters that left go, but you can't have something new unless you've got the foundation of the old to build upon.

Doesn't seem like a complete book

I love this series, I've been waiting about a year for this book to come out, re listening to the series while I waited. don't get me wrong, this was a logical progression to the story given how the last book ended, the characters are portrayed and act like we'd expect them to and everything makes sense. it just seems like, at least compared to the previous books in this series, it doesn't advance enough. we learn more about the plot with the army, each groups goal and whatnot but it just seems like it's not enough. best way I could describe it is this book should've been slightly condensed and made as a side story to get ready for the big "war/battle" that's obviously coming. either way I still love the series and can't wait for the ending

My least favorite Book in the series so far

I understand that the story has to progress, but in this particular book it felt more about Gabriel and how resourceful he is than in any other book so far. The story has evolved from dead people walking to now they have fast moving zombies, drauger and chaimira. And still the book focus more on spies government agencies, government, conspiracies, and terrorist. I’m still looking forward to the next book.
