Life in 1845

Interesting to hear the intertwined lives of so many people. The course to Oregon was brutal and deadly Religion, so many different cultures and disease. This is such a personal story.

Reading of a journal

Great insight to first hand non fiction experiences of settlers along the Oregon trail. Very quick listen.

wow

what sadness, this book brings everything to life about 1844. It is truly amazing what people pioneered and the struggles they faced.

Terrible Narration

The story was good. If you slow the speed of the reader and can get past the monotone emotionless narrator it is possible to enjoy the story presented. I'd like to actually read this book again myself and be my own narrator.

Interesting story

The story was interesting, however the mundane and emotionless narrative made it difficult to push through to the end.

poor narration

The narrator reads entirely too fast, not pausing at periods or conjunctions. This makes the story very hard to follow and impossible to form mental images from the story.

Much MISpornouncing; totally ruining everything

Why be so concerned of the title when the reader is NOT interested or caring. NOT educated in the pronouncing of towns, locations or even reading aloud. Audible books should be embarrassed to have presented this when such information provided could be so enjoyed. It is history to be learned NOT destroyed as this reading has so well succeeded.. Do pauses, periods, commas, paragraphs mean nothing?

Narrators make all the difference

Trying to listen to someone reading a diary with no feeling or emotion was great for sleeping. So sorry I could not stay awake each time I tried to listen.

Narrator is offensive

The pace, tone and inflection of her voice ruined the entire experience. She sounds like a robot...
