About this listen

The sisters of Sea Haven, bound by the heart and the magical power of the elements, return in this soul-stirring new novel from Christine Feehan, number one New York Times best-selling author of Spirit Bound....

For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating "patterns" in the air around her - whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

Airiana fled the program, but she couldn’t outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn’t about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there....

The story is not bad, although the heroes character arch feels a little rushed to me. The issues I had were to do with the choice of narrator. Phil has a great voice. Just not for feminine voices. And the persistent mispronunciation of Levi almost made it too frustrating to listen to the whole book. Just my two cents.

Overall pretty standard and a decent story

book is great, but I knew that going in since I own a hard copy as well. the only downside was the narrator pronouncing "Levi" as "Lay'vee" rather than the "Leev-eye." If you're accustomed to the alternative pronunciation it won't bother you a bit, but being used to the American pronunciation it made me a bit crazy every time I heard it since it sounds so wrong to me.

great book pronunciation of 1 name drove me crazy

Love all Christine books. But didn't like the narrator. If the next book in the series is read by him I will not buy.

Story great

Story is excellent - an adventure away from Sea Haven. Ariana's father is quite a revelation. Maximum Prakinski is an excellent hero full of angst. Plenty of villains and heroes. The only thing I did not like is the misprounouncement of previous names in the series. This is a major distraction and annoyance for me. Levi Prakenski's name is alway different from Water Bound and every time it threw me out of the story. Same thing happens in Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series. Narrators should always listen to previous books in a series to correct this flaw.

Exciting addition to an intriguing series

Airianna is a super intelligent young woman that everyone is after. Most are after her brains but Maxim Prakenskii wants all of her & the four children they rescue from a floating chamber of horrors. In this book we also see the awesome power of the Sisters of the Heart when they all work together. They can almost give the Drake's a run for their money. 3 down 3 to go.

I am a big fan of Christine Feehan and this book is great except I cannot stand this narrative all the women sound like they are talking through their noses its very irritating

warning has sex and violence, but Inco rporated into the story and not drawn out ( at least not the violence). Sex is loving and only at the end of the book. Story is complex enough to be interesting

Purely Enjoyable

Sorry line was true to form, however the story teller was BAD! His voices for the women were TERRIBLE! I have heard him do well on other stories but this was terrible, detracted from the storyline.

Storyline true to form but...

Well, I will say that this book is the best out of the three that I have read before now. From the beginning of the book and throughout the story, it was fascinating. That the writer continues to keep the reader more in line or to have the reader follow every event and trying to find out what's next. The story did bring out more of the sisters' powers and helping them to develop their individual image. They can learn how to make use and control their power. While this time around, they were allowed under the men's instruction using their ability to protect their families. Together their men are becoming more trusting and teaching the women how to defend themselves. Maxim and Airiana fall in love after their great ordeal with the kidnappers. She suffered in the hand of her father, betray her mother, and wants to do the same to her. But with the help of Maxim, she was able to leave the hands of her father and back home where she truly belongs. Both decided to adopt the children that were trafficked for sexually deprived men.

This book was thrilling and heartwarming story. Great plot because it kept me on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense, drama, action, romance and magic. Christine Feehan brings this fascinating to life with well written scenes and details and well orchestrated and believable action scenes that capture the imagination. I was happy by her ability to grab your attention and doesn't let go and the strong connection to all the charming characters of Sea Haven adds lots of depth to the story.

The chemistry between Max and Airiana radiates strongly, but the relationship will take a lot of work. Maxim doesn't believe he is worthy or that he even knows how to love and his past definitely stands in their way. For such a traumatic past and the sharks circling, Ariana is full of strength and courage and she has enough belief in Maxim for them both.

Christine Feehan brings you into wonderful and magical worlds with all her books and this one is no different. It gives the reader’s everything they could possible want in a story, romance, family, loyalty, community, danger, travel, courage, overcoming adversity, and the mystical and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Phil Giganet is the Best!

Wonderful and magical worlds, FUN!
