About this listen
The book Alcohol Lied to Me has helped tens of thousands of people get back in control of their drinking thanks to its unique and simple to follow message.
But alcohol is the most devious and deceptive drug on planet earth and occasionally people fall back under its spell. This journey backwards virtually always starts with the same sentence being uttered: "Surely just one drink won't hurt".
Just one drink... it seems such an innocuous action that it couldn't possibly cause any substantial drama. In reality it is the same hoping to take just one little step off a cliff. It's only one seemingly insignificant step, but the consequences are rapid, irreversible and severe. Both events start off an unstoppable series of events.
In Alcohol Lied to Me... Again, Craig gives you the tools to once again break the cycle of alcohol addiction. You will discover why this relapse can be a good thing and how you use it to ensure you stay sober for the rest of your life.
If you have started drinking again... this book will guide you quickly back to a happy and fulfilled life, completely free from the misery of alcohol. ©2003-2014 Craig Beck (P)2014 Craig BeckListeners also enjoyed...

Story
Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired? Alcohol is a powerfully addictive drug, and not the harmless social pleasantry that the marketing would have you believe. Willpower on its own has a 95% chance of failure. Quitting alcohol can be difficult unless you get the tools to help you reprogram your subconscious mind. This is the most forceful version of my stop drinking hypnosis range. Designed for people who are adamant that they want alcohol out of their life forever.

Story
Alcohol is a drug that has achieved the ultimate illusion. It has managed to convince the western world that it isn’t a drug at all, but rather a harmless social pleasantry. A product that does none of the things that the marketing promises that it does and yet remains unchallenged for such false advertising. A beverage that kills over 63,000 people a year and yet still remains legal in virtually every country around the world. Craig Beck is known as the Stop Drinking Expert because he helps people to see the truth about alcohol, hidden behind the smoke and mirrors of the marketing and our own self-created social conditioning.

Alcohol is the strangest drug on planet earth! It’s the only substance that when you develop a problem with it, they blame you and not the drug. Smokers are not branded life long "smokeaholics". Do you insist that any of your friends who have successfully quit smoking may only ever refer to themselves as "recovering smokeaholics"? No, of course not, because society understands that nicotine is highly addictive and big tobacco companies are devious and narcissistic in their marketing.

"I just want to be happy," a simple goal expressed as though it were the very least we could expect of life. Some phrase it differently, and some attach requirement or specifics to the statement by pre-deciding how happiness must be packaged. Nonetheless it sounds so reasonable an expectation and yet for some reason so many people spend an entire lifetime unable to reach or even discover the first step on the path to this universal desire. Many believe that this illusive state would be possible if they could only win the lottery, inherit great wealth....

Story
It’s the nagging question more and more of us are finding harder to ignore, whether we have a “problem” with alcohol or not. In the face of how we care for ourselves otherwise, it’s hard to avoid how alcohol really makes us feel: terrible. How different would our lives be if we stopped drinking on autopilot? If we stopped drinking altogether? Frank, funny, and always judgment-free, Sober Curious is a bold guide to choosing to live hangover-free, from Ruby Warrington, one of the leading voices of the new sobriety movement.

Story
The psychiatric establishment and rehab industry in the Western world have branded addiction a brain disease based on evidence that brains change with drug use. But in The Biology of Desire, cognitive neuroscientist and former addict Marc Lewis makes a convincing case that addiction is not a disease and shows why the disease model has become an obstacle to healing. Lewis reveals addiction as an unintended consequence of the brain doing what it's supposed to do - seek pleasure and relief - in a world that's not cooperating.

Story
What could possibly be “lucky” about addiction? Absolutely nothing, thought Laura McKowen when drinking brought her to her knees. As she puts it, she “kicked and screamed . . . wishing for something - anything - else” to be her issue. The people who got to drink normally, she thought, were so damn lucky. But in the midst of early sobriety, when no longer able to anesthetize her pain and anxiety, she realized that she was actually the lucky one. Lucky to feel her feelings, live honestly, really be with her daughter, change her legacy.

Really enjoyed it
I enjoyed this book because it was a easy to understand and I read it on Audible. I will probably read it again. I really enjoyed the vitamin chapter. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
I gave it 4 stars only because this is my first book by the author. I will read more of his books and I’m sure the stars will be 5. Thank you for this insight.

Alcohol: The Urine of Yeast
Dear Craig:
I have learned a lot about alcohol and it’s devastating effects from your books. Thank you.
It is my understanding that alcohol is created when yeast ingest the rotting vegetables and excrete alcohol as their urine. It may be helpful for your on line members to know this.
On the subject of membership I purchased a membership for over $300.00 but have not been able to access it online. I’ve sent you several emails asking for help, all of which have gone unanswered. Please send me a link and all information needed to access your members site to kengenz@outlook.com please.
Thank you.

Simple yet effective
Craig Beck is no nonsense while still being encouraging. This book had the same effect on me as the first one and included a great repetitive reminder: "Just one drink" is a dangerous phrase...

Another helpful book from Craig Beck
Craig gives information that will make you wonder why anyone would ever drink or return to it after stopping. Alcohol is what he calls “attractively packaged poison.” He has a great voice too.

What a great book, I am 2 weeks free of alcohol, after 2 6 week stays in rehab , I never thought it would be so easy. No cravings no mood swings, I was scared to stop my 2 bottles of wine a night , but I had no side effects. My doctor had told me to detox in a hospital , I didn't . I just told myself that was it, I was tired of being sick and tired, I took a photo of myself after a night of drinking , I keep it to remind myself of what alcohol does to me, thank you sooo much Craig , 🙏🏻🙏🏻you saved my life 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

Straight forward , to the point delivery.
Craig Beck gives us the reality of alcohol without sugar coating anything. I like his approach and how he doesn’t mess around with worrying about hurting someone’s feelings because he genuinely cares about people’s health.
