About this listen

Former underwear model turned entrepreneur Clay Stryker has loved, tragically lost, and vowed that he’ll never risk his heart again. After making his fortune, the youngest of the rugged Stryker brothers returns to Fool's Gold, California, to put down roots on a ranch of his own. But he’s frustrated to discover that even in his hometown, people see him only for his world-famous… assets.

Firefighter Chantal (Charlie) Dixon grew up an ugly duckling beside her delicately beautiful mother, a feeling reinforced long ago by a man who left soul-deep scars. Now she has good friends, a solid job and the itch to start a family — yet she can’t move toward the future while she’s haunted by painful memories. Clay finds an unexpected ally, and unexpected temptation, in tomboyish Charlie, the only person who sees beyond his dazzling good looks to the real man beneath. But when Charlie comes to him with an indecent proposal, will they be able to overcome their pasts and find a love that lasts beyond one incredible summer?

Almost, but not quite - perfect

The biggest fault I could find is something that would spoil the story, so I won't say it.

I loved reading about the trials and tribulations of a male model trying to live a regular life. Charlie's trauma was sad, but not overdone.

I understand that Clay needed a back story of love lost, but there wasn't as much angst there as I expected, and for which I am truly thankful.

Fool's Gold keeps drawing me back, even after nine entries in the series, which is amazing. Most authors lose their way by the time they hit book six. This one is a little short, probably because much of the other stories in town weren't rehashed much.

Would I buy it again? Yes
Will I read it again? Absolutely

Very good listen

I enjoyed this book so much. I enjoy romance stories that are more believable like this one is. It's no waste of money or credit. I'm looking forward to more in this series and from the set up of the existing characters one can see that there are more books to follow. Some to look forward to!

A wonderful audiobook

This is a typical Susan Mallory book. Any book that can make you both laugh and cry is my kind of book!

My Favorite Susan Mallory Book!

I loved this so much I listened more than once, which is unheard of for me. It was a sweet story of love and healing, but that description doesn’t do it justice. I hope you’ll read and enjoy this book as much as I have.

Amazingly Written!

Having dealt with this issue in my family, I was impressed with how respectfully, realisticly, and kindly Susan Mallery dealt with this subject matter. This is why I continue to buy her books. Great stories, intelligently written.

Similar but Still Great!!

Would you listen to All Summer Long again? Why?

Absolutely!! All the Fool's Gold books make you miss the characters. When you want to reconnect with them all you have to do is pick up the book and read it again. Or listen in this case.

What was one of the most memorable moments of All Summer Long?

I don't think their was a moment. I think the idea that they were both running from the perceptions of themselves was memorable. Lessons learned while enjoying the story are the best kind to learn.

What about Tanya Eby’s performance did you like?

I love Tanya Eby. She is my friend who tells me what's going on. I have read many books she has read and she always makes them enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

This book is similar to Pia's story. There were a few parallel's but it was still an interesting story for Charlie.

not my favourite

The story is nice however I think its not necessary to describe the intimate scenes so explicitely - I got a bit bored and had to forward all the time. I liked the more recent books of fouls gold better - more interesting and sometimes almost a bit witty storys.

Darling story, very involved plot, very relatable.

Well, it is Fool's Gold, what's it to like. I especially liked Charlie having found her way despite not being the predictable girly-girl.
