About this listen

Morgan O'Connelli hated the restless lifestyle she'd had as a child. All she wants now is to create a real home in small-town Wyoming. So first she hangs up her real-estate agent shingle...then she promptly borrows the horse of the hottest cowboy in town!

Cutting-horse champion Gabe Chance is blown away by the feisty redhead who unexpectedly lands right in his bed...and, soon enough, his heart! Morgan's perfect for him in every way. Until he realizes that while she's turned out to be everything he never knew he wanted, he's got everything someone in her profession has ever wanted...his familys ranch.

And that's a legacy he's just not willing to give up not even for the sexiest woman hes ever fallen for....

HOT, HOT, HOT

I loved the narrator's soft, sexy voice. A great addition to the Chance Brother's Saga.

Good book not so great reader

The book is sexy and fun, but the narrator makes it very difficult to enjoy.

Enjoying this series

This was a most amazing romantic and sensual journey and I absolutely couldn't put it down. The Chance family, their brothers, their friends made the story come more alive. Ambushed was about trust, coming home and in taking a "chance". It was a wonderful love story and a wonderful addition to The Sons of Chance Miniseries. With a better narrator that tried different voices for the characters I think this story could have really come alive..instead it was just a read but thanks to Vicki Lewis Thompson it was a heck of a listen/read.

Heated Romance

Morgan O'Connelli's return to small town Wyoming is motivated by a need to settle down, to find roots, after a life of constantly moving with her parents. But a husband and children are the last things on her list of to -do's especially when she spent so much of her childhood playing babysitter to her six younger siblings. But a chance meeting with Gabe Chance during the 4th of July parade threatens to upset all of that.

Gabe Chance, youngest of the Chance brothers, has no plans beyond getting his horse, Top Draw, into the cutting horse hall of fame. But his brother's penny pinching threatens to put paid to that. Perhaps a brief, sensual encounter with a woman he'd known briefly in high school, is just the thing to stop him from pounding his brother's face in.

Neither of them want more than some shared fun, after all. So why would there be a risk? And maybe his brother needs to stop being so uptight about Morgan being a Realtor. She's not after the ranch, no matter what Jack might think!

But the attraction between them is undeniable and the threat of it turning into something more might well be more than either of them are prepared, or willing, to handle.

The humor and sensuality that runs through this book is undeniable, and combine to produce a lovely story that I truly enjoyed. As an audio book it also worked very well for me, and the narrator had a pleasant voice that lent itself easily to the sensuality of some of the scenes.

Couldn't get past the narrator

I enjoyed the first installment of this series and was looking forward to getting part two of the story with this novel. However, the squeaky voice of the narrator ruined this book for me within the first half hour. It's impossible to visualize a rugged cowboy who sounds like a 14-year-old girl relating her junior high experiences. Someone needs to screen these things better.
