About this listen

The first in a sensational new series, Jill Shalvis introduces Cameron, Stone, and T.J. Wilder - three bad-boy heroes who effortlessly mix breathtaking adventure and scorching sex appeal… Get wild… And then get wilder.

Accountant Katie Kramer is a quintessential good girl - working hard, recycling diligently, all the while trying to ignore the feeling that she doesn't fit in anywhere. That's all she wants. Well, that and amazing sex, and the kind of daredevil escapade she can look back on when she's crunching numbers in a dusty cubicle. Which explains why she just took a job in Wishful, California, working for Wilder Adventures and Expeditions. Waking up to find a magnificently built stranger towering over her bed - that part defies explanation.

I want a Wilder:(

Jill Shalvis is great at story writing and Liisa Ivary is great at story telling. She gave each character life.I love Anny and her pissy attitude,it's hilarious. All the brothers are sexy as hell even though they can be clueless like most men.Fun story of two people both have been in horrific experiences but both go about dealing with their death defying experiences in a different way.A guy who lived life on the edge, hides from danger and challenges and a woman who lived a quiet uneventful life decides to live life to the fullest. The two meet fall in love and find a way to meet in the middle, facing their fears together, giving each other strength and great sex!

another fabulous series by Shalvis. Katie comes as a temp to work at the resort. cam is fighting his own battles with loss. Katie shows him how to get over it and get on with life.

I have always lived Karen White and listening to her perform this book is just as wonderful as every other. she's the one who turned me on to Jill Shalvis. I am so grateful.

Love Jill Shalvis, but . . .

Would you try another book from Jill Shalvis and/or Liisa Ivary?

Yes, will probably follow through with the other books in this series.

Any additional comments?

I was really torn with how many stars to give the story and overall. This book was just okay for me. I liked the way they met and some of the scenes in between that I could identify with. The part where he keeps her in his truck while she leans out the door throwing up -- been there, done that, when I was young and didn't know when to say "when"!

It took me a while to get into the narrator's voice as I thought it was a little too old for the ages of the main characters. The narration was saved by Liisa Ivary's versatility with different voices for different characters.

All that said, it was a nice, light romance so I'll probably listen to it again when I've had too much of the angst-ridden romances. Oh, and the sex was good, too. I definitely liked those scenes!

A new series has pulled me in.

Would you consider the audio edition of Instant Attraction to be better than the print version?

Did not read the print version, so have no way of comparing the two versions.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Instant Attraction?

Personally, I loved the way Katie and Cam met, but would have to say the most memorable moment was when Chuck decided to move in. But then, any good animal moment will get to me every time.

What does Liisa Ivary bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Liisa Ivary is my new FAVORITE narrator. I was about a third of the way through the book when I stopped to see what else she reads. There is something warm and inviting about her voice and the inflections give personality to the characters. Her voice also makes me think of sitting in front of a fireplace, drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows and listening to THE STORYTELLER.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When Katie met Cam....

Any additional comments?

I have already listened to the second book in the series and am trying to make my self wait for a new member credit to get the third book in the series. As if...

Good Story, Just Ok Narrator

Author writes some great series, but if you are like me, a great narrator can make a good story great, but a just ok reader, can bring down the story, and I am NOT compelled to continue the series.
This was the case in this story.
Karen White own’s this author’s reads, and I buy most all of those. EG Rumor Has It.
Were my comments of help?

AWESOME....Love this book!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it captivated me right off the bat....as soon as Katie was woken up by Cal coming into the cabin that first night....you knew the sparks were going to fly between both of them!!

Balls Out!

First Thought:

I really enjoy Jill Shalvis' brand of contemporary romance; funny and sexy.

The Story:

After a near death experience Katie now has the attitude that she's going to live life with her "balls out". Never mind she doesn't have any balls. Cam has been away from home for a year, licking his wounds from a failed relationship and an accent that cost him, his sports career. The two meet when Cam finds Katie (aka Goldie Locks) in his bed after he returns home from his time away.

The Romance(s):

Katie and Cam has chemistry and a lot of sexual tension through out INSTANT ATTRACTION. There are a few times when they think they're about to get lucky, only to have something or someone stopping them. Neither wants to fall of the other one since Katie is only in time for a few weeks. Cam is afraid that Katie will want more if they get too close. Katie is afraid that she will get her heart broken when it's time for her to leave town for her next adventure. But they over come their issues in sweet and funny ways to have a HEA.

There's a secondary romance happening in INSTANT ATTRACTION. Cam's aunt, Annie is trying to get her husband Nick "to see her". The couple have been married for a few years and have lost that spark. It's fun to watch the older couple try to work out their issues and see if they can make their marriage work.

Narration:

It took me a while to get into Liisa Ivary's narration. While Liisa does a great job narrating INSTANT ATTRACTION I'm not 100% sold on her voice for this series. She has an "older" sounding voice and with Katie and Cam are in their late 20s or early 30s. But Liisa does an excellent job with the male voices and she manages to change her voice for the females characters where her non-dialogue voice is different, instead of it being the same as the heroine's which it is nice.

Final Thought:

Give me more of the Wilder bunch!

If you get rid of the Narrator...More Stars

Would you consider the audio edition of Instant Attraction to be better than the print version?

No. The Narrator ruined the audible book experience. At times, you couldn't tell which character was speaking...or rather it was a man or woman. Very poor.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Stone. Good character. Funny, insightful, strong, but typical male - with hope. LOL!!

What didn’t you like about Liisa Ivary’s performance?

At times, you couldn't tell which character was speaking...or rather it was a man or woman. I would avoid her in the future.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, but I had to laugh when the three girls got drunk.

Any additional comments?

A little too much 'hard to get' and 'too many interruptions'. A little more after they are "officially" dating or whatever.

Good enough that I'll get the next book

This was not an important book, but it was good enough that I will get the next one in the series.

I keep searching for another Nora Roberts or Sandra Brown. I just have not found one yet.

So good

I enjoyed this audible book so much, I purchased the next one before I finished this one. This was a really great story. A little comedy, a little drama, a little sizzle... it was all there. Great character development and realistic conversation. Loved it.
