Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Story
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

The way the book held my interest enticing me to move on to the next chapter
Not a fan of virtual voice. Many reading errors, such as when the medical examiner is referred to as the “ME” The virtual voice says the word me.

inconvenient
I enjoyed the book plot. Not so sure I enjoyed virtual voice. At times I was confused which character was speaking. They all sound exactly alike. At least with real human voices they try to sound different. Book was good. Enjoyed the plot.

An author to follow:
Interesting plot ideas (unique but relatable) and clearly defined characters (minimal confusion with identity, name, gender). Interwoven with exploration of Christian values (within story as a whole and through characters development.) Advise to further develop "reversal of fortune" structural element and address much earlier in storyline. Author's inclusion of Christian principles works best when showing how characters grapple with and apply Christian values in their lives -- show versus tell.

The senstive way the position and possible effect the church was handled.
Very interesting cold case. The resolution of a cold case and the sensitive manner in which the position of the church was handled. There are no perfect church members, only a Perfect God.

How I envy writers😊
Loved the play on words in title and story.
The references to Christ and handling of attitudes.
Being able to read a good story without the shock of curse words and using Gods name in vain.
Thank you

Looking forward to book 3
First off, virtual voice has improved greatly over the years and I am thankful for it because it allows me to enjoy books without taking five years to finish reading them. He gives person like myself and others with learning disabilities or visual impairments to enjoy a book filled with suspense, a little bit of comedy, and good relationships. I look forward to book 3 of Lieutenant Joe Boyd and his second in command, sergeant, Hank Jenkins uncover their next mystery. It may be the captain Pendleton will finally explain why people like them more than him which Joe doesn’t understand. I was introduced to Dan Walsh writing when I read the Jack Turner series, which is also a very good series and I like the fact that they live relationship between Jack and Joe, this spin off for Joe Boyd. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did

Good story, terrible narration
The story was was actually very good, but the artificial voice just about ruined it. There was no feeling or sense of emotion. No changing of voice tones for different characters, so it was hard to know who was speaking. I will surely avoid listening to any other books that use artificial voice.
