Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Jack Turner comes back to Culpepper to give a series of lectures for his old history professor. Within days, he starts having bizarre experiences at night. Like he’s traveling back in time, experiencing the epic events in his lectures firsthand. He has no control over these experiences and can’t make them stop. Joe Boyd thought he’d left big city crime back in Pittsburgh when he took a detective job in Culpepper, Georgia, a sleepy southern college town. His peaceful life ends when two students turn up dead in two weeks. The coroner is saying natural causes, but something doesn’t add...

Story
My name is Nora Black, and I'm 51 years young. At least that's what I tell myself, when I'm not having hot flashes; my knees don't hurt; and I can find my reading glasses. I'm also the proud owner of a salon called Scents & Scentsability in the small resort town of Garden Cove, where I make a cozy living selling handmade bath and beauty products. All in all, my life is pretty good. Except for one little glitch.

— Double Carol Award-winner (Best Debut Novel, Best Historical Fiction) — Patrick Collins has three items on his Christmas list. He wants the army to find his father. He wants to leave his grandfather’s house. And he wants--very badly--the wooden soldier tucked away in his grandfather’s attic. Set at Christmastime in 1943, The Unfinished Gift is an engaging family story that reminds us of the surprising things that can affect powerful change in our hearts–-like a young boy’s desperate prayers, a shoebox full of love letters, even a dusty, long-forgotten wooden soldier.

Story
An amazing, heart-tugging sequel to Dan’s bestselling novel, Twas The Night (but easily read as a Stand-Alone). It’s 1963, a new year has just begun. What’s Best For Them picks up the story of newly-orphaned Ransom and his sister, Emma, trying to adjust to small town life in Black Rock, North Carolina. This after spending the entirety of their lives growing up in the woods. While things in their new home with Theresa are going very well, almost nothing outside the home is. Deputy Bud Ellison steps in to help Theresa but challenges are springing up from every direction. Her family’s ...

The storyline
Not a favor of virtual voice. Too many errors. There’s absolutely no emotion and it’s so monotone we can put you to sleep. The story line kept me listening.

Good Story
Mr. Virtual Voice reads as well as some of the poorer readers I’ve listen to. And he seems to be improving. He needs to pay attention to words that have different pronunciations, based on what part of speech they are, or if they’re different tenses, and such. Somebody needs to listen to the finished product, because he keeps making the same mistakes from book to book. Three examples: The abbreviation for medical examiner is not pronounced “me”. It is pronounced “em-ee”. The past tense of read is pronounced red. Inflection is probably going to be more difficult, but if you really want the listener to enjoy the experience without having to wince periodically, this things should be addressed. Hearing these glitches pulls, at least this listener, out of the story. Even if it’s for just a few seconds, most of them are just unnecessary. I know these glitches could be fixed. Likely easily. They are good stories.

The way it all linked together
My husband and I both enjoyed the way the story all linked together-like a puzzle getting solved as we listened. Dan is an amazing writer and we look forward to many more books to come. Thank you Dan for the hours of entertainment always including our Lord:)

Great story!
The only thing that was a little negative was the use of Virtual Voice. I liked the story very much and found the characters very believable.

I enjoy the series so far, but don’t appreciate the AI reading . It’s the only downside. The story is good.

The FOUR-DOOR CAMARO
The FOUR-DOOR CAMARO and the other careless mistakes, ruined what, otherwise, was a good story. 🫤
