About this listen

They thought things would get easier. They were wrong.

For Callie, Phil, and the others, life is one long battle from dawn ’til dusk. Despite this, the settlement has flourished and gone from strength to strength. Until now.

What lurks on the horizon is a test, the likes of which they could never have imagined. New threats, new challenges, and the new day could spell the end of all their hopes.

Since leaving the bunker, they’ve faced unfathomable hardships and terrifying enemies, but nothing could have prepared them for this.

Because this is anarchy.

Nail biting

Wow! Another great book in the series. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book. The intense action and drama keeps you listening. Caliie and her group continue to struggle as they try to make their little settlement thrive. Just when they think things are getting better, something else happens. The author has you laughing, then crying, then gritting your teeth hoping that the characters will make it through. An Excellent story.

Another fantastic collaberation

Book 4 of The Burning Tree series has you anxiously waiting to see what comes next. Facing danger every day is stressful for the best of them but 16 year old Callie handles it like a champ. So much action going on in this installment. Callie and Dani come across some Ferals. Greenslade is tasked with getting more people from the bunker to the settlement. Susan and Drake make an executive decision that rubs some of the settlement the wrong way. Old biases and thoughts of revenge bubble up to the top when the two groups finally meet up. Someone disappears without a word. With danger all around them, they now must face danger within them. I hope Christopher never stops writing. Every series he does is addictive and keeps you wanting more. Kim does a wonderful job as usual. Her ability to give each character their own voice just amazes me. If you have never read any of Christopher's work or listened to any of Kim's work, I highly suggest you give them a try. You'll be hooked for life.

Formidable Dystopian Tale

This series just gets better and better with each book in the series. Once I started the audiobook for this 4th book in "The Burning Tree" series, I had to listen until the end. The story was a rollercoaster ride from one twist to another. Just when one obstacle was dealt with, another obstacle appeared. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Kim Bretton's narration skills were incredible as her performance captured my attention and immersed me into the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Anarchy

Anarchy is the 4th book in the Burning Tree series. It was the best in the series so far! The characters are brought to vivid life by Christopher Artinian's skillfull writing and Kim Bretton' s various voices. I enjoyed every minute and can not wait for the next audio book! I highly recommend this series as well as his other series.

Anarchy!

I find myself at a loss for words when I begin to review one of Christopher Artinian's books. I have trouble finding enough superlatives to convey how I feel!

Callie, Phil and the other survivors of Salvation are working hard to try to grow crops and build shelters for their group. However, they are not expecting to have an influx of other survivors show up. And, the ones who come into their settlement are not from a background that any of them wants to ever see again, much less learn to live with!

This book is full of tension and action, with attacks from "ferals", kidnappings, murders and threats of war. I especially loved Phil's background story and how it worked into this book. I was left an emotional wreck at times and had to keep reading to see what else would befall these characters who are more like friends.

The writing is brilliant and listening to Kim Bretton's narration really brings it all to life. Her voices for the different characters are perfect and I loved the musical interludes that broke up the different sections. I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment of this series because I just know that the author is going to throw some wrenches into the story again!

Amazing

This series and these characters are as amazing as any of the ones in his EOE/Safe haven series. I think I’ve devoured everything by Artinian and I am always hungry for more. It’s a good thing he puts out books quickly. (& don’t worry that doesn’t mean they are just thrown together)
I continue to be amazed at how wonderful his stories are. I love every single character, even the evil ones. I want all of them turned in to TV series. They are certainly 10x’s better than half the stuff out now!
This is the story of survival but the heart is the friendships and family of the characters.
You will never go wrong with one of his series. Also Kim Bretton is one of the best narrators ever.

Such surprising twists!

Finally, a huge thanks to Kim for bringing this to life! She does so great with the voices.
It’s scarier than when reading, the anticipation of what happens next doesn’t go down the whole book.
We get a bit more of Phil’s backstory as he copes with the horror of a kidnap.
Callie does a few shocking acts as always… couldn’t stop listening!
