Publisher's summary

Andrew, Abraham, and Austin Petersheim's family business has earned them the nickname The Peanut Butter Brothers. But if their matchmaking younger siblings have their way, all three may soon bear another title: husband....

Handsome, hardworking, and godly, Andrew Petersheim has always been sure of his place in his Wisconsin Amish community. He'll be a welcome catch for the local girl who finally captures his heart. Mary Coblenz certainly isn't that girl. Two years after "jumping the fence" for the Englischer world, she's returned, unmarried and pregnant. Yet instead of hiding in shame as others in the community expect, she's working at the Honeybee Farm, ignoring the gossips - and winning over Andrew's eight-year-old twin brothers....

For all Andrew's certainty about right and wrong, it seems he has a lot to learn from Mary's courage, grace, and resilience. She's changing his notions about forgiveness and love, but will she in turn accept the challenge of starting over and choose to stay - with him?

Loved It

This was a great introduction to the series. I loved the younger brothers Alfie and Benji, they create so much fun through out the book. I also loved how Andrew came to change how he looked at the world and especially those who don't follow the rules exactly as he feels that they should. The changes that he makes for himself and how he finally realizes how he feels about Mary. Can't wait to read and hear more from this series.

Good Story, Amish Light

I enjoyed the story. The characters were fun, especially the younger brothers who were working hard to get their brother and his love interest together.
However, if this is a story about Amish people I expect there to be more adherence to the rules of the Amish and to involve their church leaders. And there are no mention of the need for the heroine to join the church before she would be allowed to get married.

Good Story

I really enjoy most of Jennifer Beckstrand’s stories! I’m glad I got to listen to this one, but I’m hoping the next books in the series will only get better! The young twins, Alphieand Benji, Bitsy, and the boys mother, Rebecca, steal all the charm in this book and there isn’t much leftover for the hero, Andrew. There are a lot of fun, lighthearted moments in this book, but most of the sometimes lengthy conversations between the hero and heroine aren’t part of them. It would be okay if Andrew was slightly more likable, he’s a general nice guy who struggles with being judgmental, but quite frankly, it’s hard to see what the heroine sees in him, even though his character does grow. By the end of the book, it was taking so long for them to remove their issues, I got tired of listening to it . But there is a scene near the end with the boys mother, Rebecca, that makes listening to the end worthwhile! Not her best story. Reader did a great job, loved her performance!

A good read

I loved this book. This story has the harshness of peoples judgement but also has forgiveness, faith and love. The best parts are the two young and hilarious twin brothers that bring so much chaos and innocence to the story.

A beautiful story of love, grace and belief

I loved this sweet, heartwarming and healing Amish romance. It’s a story about the power of choice and accepting consequences. The story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. It had me feeling all the big feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering with its perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, trust, mistakes, past pain, and faith. Andrew and Mary Andrew Petersheim is Amish and is proud to be a member of his community. His family farms and makes peanut butter but he does not want to make peanut butter. He would rather make beautiful furniture out of wood but does not want to disappoint his family. Mary Coblenz jumped the fence and left the Amish community two years previously. When she returns unmarried and pregnant, her parents slam the door in her face and refuse to speak to her but Bitsy Kiem, who owns Honeybee Farms, welcomes Mary into her life and home. Andrew is love struck at his first sighting of Mary but when he realizes she is pregnant and unmarried, his judgment prevents him from acting on his feelings. Mary is trying to give the community a chance to welcome her back into the fold despite her bad choices and sins before she decides she no longer fits in with the Amish. On their way to their happily ever after Andrew and Mary experience a number of missteps, Andrew has to find his way to grace, acceptance and courage, and Mary has to realize that guidelines and embracing beliefs do not really make a stifling cage. Andrew’s 8 year old twin brothers, Alfie and Benji, provide good natured comic relief as they try desperately with ever more crazy schemes to get Andrew and Mary to fall in love. The chapters from the twin’s points of view were a unique twist and added quite a bit of humor to the story. This was a beautiful story of second chances, grace, and love while trying to embrace and follow your beliefs. I love this series.

Callie Beaulieu did a phenomenal job narrating the stories and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Refreshing!

I love this story and this narrator! A Narrator makes or breaks an audible story. And this one was the best! I love the simple childlike refreshing look at a good storyline.
