About this listen

With the Dark Angels spread across a hundred systems, primarch Lion El'Jonson stands as Lord Protector of Ultramar - though his true motives are known to few indeed, and old rivalries on the home world threaten to tear the Legion in half.

But when word comes of the Night Lords' attack on Sotha, the Lion's brutal actions bring Imperium Secundus once again to the brink of civil war. Not even the most fearsome warriors of the Dreadwing, nor any arcane secret of the Order, can guarantee victory if he sets himself against his loyal brothers.

A little long-winded, but a must read for Dark Angels brothers and plot enjoyers, who are greatly rewarded towards the end.

Just what was needed. A great dark angels story with some other good experiences and stories added throughout.

Great Dark Angels story

Amazing book, really brought everything together in terms of how The Imperium Triumvirate dealt with Konrad and other things in the imperium secundus and how the conflict on caliban was developed.

Great book

I really enjoyed all of the Primarch interactions, with some standout chapters (mainly sanguinius and kurze chapter, as well as kurzes trial). Also the dark angels storyline was very enjoyable as well with Luther’s speeches being standouts.

Another great addition to the imperium secundus storyline

Not as much battle scenes as I would have liked to have listened too that in a lot of the horus heresy books prior. But there was a lot of character building. And lots parts that include the Primarchs Sanguinius, The Lion, Guilliman and the Night Lord Kurze himself. A bit more talking, I would definitely say this book is a major lead up to the next titles that would certainly have to be the Lions return to Caliban and seeing what Luther has waiting for him. But probably before that has to be the continuing of the war against Horus.

Good building of the Luther treachery

honestly, in a series full of choice sci Fi novels, this one tops them all so far
