One of my all time favorites

There is not enough good that could be said about this book. Every girl (and woman) should listen to it!

Stiff stilted voice artist

Would you listen to Anne of Green Gables again? Why?

I plan to listen to the whole series. It is very old fashioned and charming even as it
is filled with overly wordy and cliche description. That is part of the fun. And the characters
Are interesting. Also the historic setting and way of life is delightful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I enjoyed the heroine. She was lively and reflective. Her actual dialogue bothe external and internal was captivating. The author's own narrative through out the story was oddly
Cliche and overwrought in contrast.

How could the performance have been better?

The voice artist was very stiff as if biting each word. And there was not a great deal
Of artistry in variety of voice characters.

Narrator for Anne is a little stiff

What did you love best about Anne of Green Gables?

I love Anne of Green Gables. The story never grows old even after the fourth time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Anne of Green Gables?

The tender moments between Anne and Matthew and the budding romance between Anne and Gilbert, of course, are memorable. Anne's exuberant personality is most outstanding.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Victoria McGee?

Victoria doesn't quite capture the spirit of Anne. She's a little stiff for Anne but does a better job with Murilla.

Love the narrator

Have loved the book since I first read it years ago. I wish Victoria McGee narrated more of the Anne series books. I have them from several other narrators and none come close to as both peaceful and enthralling as Victoria McGee.

Narration taints this beautiful story

Such a beautiful story but the narration is so monotone and without substance. I recommend this story but I would suggest getting the one Barbara Corusso narrates. She can bring the story of Anne to life

Victoria McGee

Victoria is one of the best performers I've heard within the Anne series. She has a wonderfully pleasant voice for the reading of Anne of Green Gables. I think she is the best performer I have from all the Anne book I have. I wish she did more performances for the Anne series. I will always love the story as well. I loved it before ever reading the books because of Megan Follows performance in the movie series. The blessings of a little waif of a girl turned beautiful and smart and loving and open always warms my heart. C'est très magnifique livre.🇨🇦🇫🇷

Difficult to finish

The narration is nice for me, being visually impaired. The affectations often didn’t match the sentiment being read. Emotional dialogue, descriptions, and interactions were worried and off course. Interesting this book lasted so long.

Bad Narrating

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Robots who want to be amused by listening to a human who is trying to sound like a robot.

Would you be willing to try another book from Lucy Maude Montgomery? Why or why not?

nope. I do not like her writing style.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator was HORRIBLE. She sounded like she was attempting to imitate an electronic phone voice.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I could not get past the irritation of the sound of the narrator's voice.
