Publisher's summary
After filming 50 cases of people under hypnosis saying the same things about the afterlife, (Flipside, It's a Wonderful Afterlife, and Hacking the Afterlife) and working with medium Jennifer Shaffer talking to people directly (Backstage Pass to the Flipside: Talking to the Afterlife with Jennifer Shaffer), I began to focus my research on people who were not under hypnosis, but who could recall a vivid event: a dream, a near death experience or something that was consciousness altered. By asking simple questions to them about their experience, I found that I could "ask them" to invite "people on the flipside" into the conversation, including loved ones no longer on the planet, including guides, teachers and council members that are aware of all of their lifetimes, as well as have answers to key questions about the nature of reality, about consciousness, and about how things work.
By asking nearly 50 people not under any form of hypnosis "the same questions" to these "people on the flipside" - I was startled to see that they said the same things about the journey that the people under hypnosis have said. Within this audiobook, people are going to listen to things that will upset their paradigm, that will challenge their belief system, that will force them to rethink (or at least consider rethinking) everything they've ever been told about the journey. As one science based author wrote to me in an email, "Your experiments, which I have tried on my own and replicated, have shaken me to my core."
I am a filmmaker and author. I have been filming people talking about the afterlife for over a decade, and have reported extensively how I came to this line of questioning. These reports have been gathered over the past two years; some remain anonymous, some are not - either way, they are people fully conscious, eyes open, staring into the distance over my shoulder (or speaking live on the radio) accessing vistas and worlds I've heard about from other people. The reports are consistent and they are reproducible. We apparently choose our lifetimes, bring "about a third" of our conscious energy to any given performance. When the play is over, we "return home" to connect with our loved ones, teachers, and guides. These accounts point to another reality altogether - one that does not include fear, does not include attachment to worry, an understanding of why we each chose our lifetime and what we are here to learn.
As Gary Schwartz, PhD wrote in the introduction to Flipside, "As you read Richard’s journey of personal discovery in the context of these great questions, you will awaken to a vision of mind and the universe which is filled with opportunity and awe. This is the kind of the book where once you have read it, you will no longer be able to see the world in the same way again."
This book is no different.

In 1945 when the atomic bombs were dropped in WWII, our “protectors” and “watchers” in outer space saw that Earth was on a collision course with disaster. The prime directive of non-interference prevented them from taking any action, but then they came up with a brilliant plan to save Earth and assist her in her ascension. They couldn’t interfere from the “outside”, but maybe they could influence from the “inside”. So the call went out for volunteers to come and help. “Earth is in trouble - who wants to volunteer?”

Through compelling profiles of people who knowingly planned the experiences mentioned above, Your Soul's Plan shows that suffering is not purposeless, but rather imbued with deep meaning.

Story
The greatest contribution of the ancient shamans to modern healing is the understanding that in the course of any life we are liable to suffer soul loss - the loss of parts of our vital energy and identity - and that to be whole and well, we must find the means of soul recovery. Moss teaches that our dreams give us maps we can use to find and bring home our lost or stolen soul parts. He shows how to recover animal spirits and ride the windhorse of spirit to places of healing and adventure in the larger reality.

I first heard about “a council of elders” in Michael Newton’s books and in his interview for my film Flipside. I was more interested in exploring and demonstrating that “everyone has a council” and “anyone can visit their council”. One doesn’t have to have a special ticket or a near death experience to get in–doing simple guided meditation can allow access to one’s council.

mind-bending, life-affirming
This book is a continuation of Martini's exploration of Life between lives and our higher self. Most of the interviews the book revolves around, are conducted without hypnosis yet reach communication with individuals' higher selves and spiritual councils. Narrated by the author, the book is entertaining and easy to listen to, though I often listen at 1.1 x speed
If the reports are to be believed, there is remarkable similarity in our perception of having a spiritual council that guides and supports us. They may be seen as humanoid, otherworldly, balls of light, or a combination within one council depending on how each wants or needs to be perceived. For that matter, they may put on jeans and sneakers to make it easier for you to have a conversation with them.
In order to get much out of this book you'll need to enter with an open mind. Some of the stories are more far-fetched than others, but if you listen through you are likely to hear at least a few tidbits that defy explanation other than connection with a greater consciousness.
As this book suggests, with a little bravery you might open up your own conversations with your higher self and council, and you might even get answers before you ask the questions. Whether you are truly hearing the guidance of other spirits, or accessing other portions of your brain or consciousness, or having a waking dream, or making stuff up, you may find value and insight in this process. This book may help you open to the possibility that it might be true.

Great listen except……
I’ve read or listened to all of Martini’s books. A lot of information to unpack. Much of it is repeated info from previous book and a lot of, what seemed to me, self-promoting and self-congratulations. Felt frustrated having to listen to an hour fir 20-30 mins of new info.
Love the books. Changed my life. It’s just a bit frustrating.

Little information
The main style of this book is a detailed narration that goes like “he said she said”. Conversations of insignificant, petty stuff are related that is not about the afterlife. It was difficult to listen to, not interesting and after a while his voice and style scrapped on my ears and seemed silly. Little information about the afterlife was related to the listener, it was more like a sitcom narration. People buy this book to hear about the afterlife not someone’s past daily life activities.
