Publisher's summary
A serial killer playing judge and executioner leaves clues for the investigating detective who has a deep dark secret of her own to hide and fears she’s next.
“ARE YOU SCARED YET? is a must-read for readers who love romantic suspense police procedurals with an accent on the investigation.”—A Passionate Reader
Victims? No, they’re deprived sinners. I’ll make them die in agony. One more sinning monster gone, one more to go.
Detective Delilah Swift is enjoying a personal and professional high. She’s newly promoted and in a new relationship with the chief of police, Snowden Calloway, a biracial man she has loved from a distance for a long time. Even though their relationship goes against department policy, she’s willing to do it—for him.
Some Wrongs Can't Be Forgotten
Delilah’s new-found happiness turns to horror when a young man from town disappears. His frantic parents say he’s a good guy, someone who would never do anything bad. His car is found with his cell phone and wallet on the front seat. A few days later his body is found in a pond—the same pond where a serial killer drowned last year.
Then several women disappear. When their bodies are eventually found, the crime scene is the same as before—same location of the cars, with their purses on the seat. Each gruesome clue points to a twisted psychopath growing bolder and more brutal. Chief of Police Snowden Calloway and detective Delilah Swift know they have a serial killing on their hands.
Some Crimes Deserve No Mercy
Stephen Kill may be quiet, but it’s filled with people who have secrets. This cold-blooded serial killer knows those secrets and steps in as judge and executioner, meting out murder as atonement. The killer leaves anonymous notes which start off harmless but turn increasingly sinister. One day, a note appears in Delilah’s mailbox. Then another. The more Delilah uncovers the truth, the nastier the notes become.
Delilah has a secret of her own, which she fears the murderer may already know. She is afraid the killer will go after her next. The last next note from the killer has her secret right there in black and white. It could be the death of her.
STEPHEN KILL MURDERS SERIES
In Stephen Kill, Delaware, more than one serial killer eludes the police.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. Gabriel Ferrara is tall and handsome, and most days she wants to stab her eyes out with a pencil, anything to stop her seeing his perfection. How any female could work in these conditions and not be completely besotted with him is beyond her. Then he opens his mouth and she remembers why. He's bossy and sarcastic, with a wit so sharp it could cut glass. Every weekend is the same . . . while he's off living his dream life, she's counting down the days until Monday when she sees him again.
