Editorial reviews

The late Nora Ephorn was one of the funniest writers in the history of the romantic comedy and personal memoir. Arianna Huffington is a self-made media mogul and frequent columnist. Gail Saltz is a professor of psychiatry and frequent sex and advice contributor to many forums. These are three very successful women.

A few years ago, they got together at the acclaimed 92nd Street Y in New York City to discuss aging, work, love, biography, and the pursuit of success. This breezy listen is filled with gems, including Ephron’s quip that her mother successfully raised "four kids who were all able to pay for their own psychoanalysis". This audiobook is like a brainier The View.

Wish They Were My Girlfriends!

What made the experience of listening to Arianna Huffington and Nora Ephron: Advice for Women at the 92nd Street Y the most enjoyable?

Listening to this I felt like I was with my best friends having one of those wonderful chats you have over dinner talking about life experiences. Of course, these are people in the limelight
who have had experiences far beyond our worlds, which makes it so interesting to hear their thoughts. Gail Saltz was one of the 'girls', asking some good questions, keeping the conversation moving along.
It is short and I plan to listen again!

Loving the conversations

Any additional comments?

I enjoy the idea of listening to two strong women in conversation. Ephron I'd already fallen in love with, particularly her set of essays in Crazy Salad, though her other books, both as audio or on the page, are amazing. Huffington I managed to not know a great deal about, which is interesting given how much her journal pops into my Facebook feed. I'm grateful to these women, who are bold and honest, and I'm also glad that Ephron doesn't really care about shoes. And that two powerful women can forge a friendship that people want to listen to stories about.

Love Nora

If you’d give anything to hear words you hadn’t heard before from Nora Ephron, then the $2 here is a great deal. I didn’t she and Arianna were friends, and the contrast between them makes them both even more enjoyable. It’s super short but I loved it.

Don't bother with this

A boring bunch of words.
Ordered it by mistake. Have been trying to delete it from of my library
since day one, but, evidently, it has the lifespan of a cockroach and refuses to be gotten rid of.

Poor. Interesting women, lame show.

I guess interesting people do not always have deep insights. I thought the questions were okay but I was surprised by how lame the answers were...I suspect the guests had not prepared much.
