About this listen

There's a saying that if you come from my part of town, you're from "around the way". Around the Way Girls 3 is a look at the life of some street-smart women who think they know it all but are about to get the lesson of their lives.

Sugar and Candy Cane are 24-year-old identical twins from around the way. These ladies aren't as sweet as their names imply, and people quickly come to know them as double trouble. The Cane twins have a love-hate relationship, which keeps them at odds, but when all hell breaks loose, there's no question as to whether they'll have each other's backs.

As the daughters of the infamous gangster Timmy Barnes, it was only natural that Tamara and Tamia would follow in his footsteps. But in their pursuit of the spoils of the fast life, a family secret is unraveled that may tear their lives apart.

Twin sisters Paris and Porsha McCain have a score to settle when their sister, Alex, is found brutally beaten and dead on the streets of South Central LA. Instead of waiting for the police to catch the killer, Paris and Porsha set out to exact their own kind of justice.

WOW!!!

I absolutely love the stories I just cannot get enough of them and them being a part of the series makes it that much more grand to me. Thank you from the authors to the beautiful voice reading the publishers. Just everybody thank you guys for doing what you do so that people like myself cannot only get a good story, but learn some things and not have to stop to do it.I just thoroughly enjoy listening to these books. I wish I could sit down and hold it in my hand but because I can’t this is a great experience. Thank you.

I cannot take Honey Jones!!!

All of my favorite books have her as a narrator? Why????? I cannot get with the voice!! Either it sounds like she's a white girl trying to read a hood book or it sounds like she is a little older trying to sound younger??? Her narrating voice just sounds fake I'm sorry!! she ruins every book for me I could not get through the first chapter.. I gave it four stars overall and four stars for the story because I'm almost positive it's a great storyline but I cannot do it with her reading... I'm so happy I got this book for free or I would be even more pissed off than I am now!!! Maybe Nicole Small is booked and busy or she costs too much but they need to upgrade because this is just disrespectful to your readers/listeners.... Step y'all brand up dammnnn!!!

I couldn’t listen to the second story

I had to cut off the second story and go to the next. What did she mean she couldn’t see things from her mothers point of view ? So it was okay for her father to mess around on their mother but when the mother did it it was treachery? Misogyny at its best they could have kept that story. Also this narrator needs to find a new job she sucks .

Better than 1&2

Candy cane & sugar: they’re twins, Candy slings dope and gets Cane beat up over it. The guy who sticks her up says Candy knows she’s sleeping with her man—yet Candy denies it, calling her a dyke anyway. Their mom is proper and caring so has no idea about any of this. They each threaten to tell their mom the truth about the either but keep backing down. Good sisterly and violent tension. General Hospital vibes. “Quit actin’ stank-a-dank” is so funny. There are a few too many cliches but it’s a fun, surprisingly light-hearted conflict there. Then the hesvier ones unfold of relationship drama, a lesbian predator, and get rich quick schemes.

The next story is overloaded with exposition like non-fiction. Omg, and there’s a long in-story ad about the MC loving Girls in Da Hood and their own other books. It would be funnier if the writing wasn’t like a long summary or list of wants instead of a story. The MC is also a writer, a trope I hate and is so overdone. Some of the sayings Make me laugh and the plot of her seducing her dad’s rival and mentally making fun of his hovel. The story ends a weird place. I didn’t think it was over so will there be part 2?

The last story is about an addicted prostitute willing to risk her life for $10. Loosely linked POVs like siblings, avengers, her former self. The emotional pulling are well-done.
