About this listen

Did you know that the Aztecs sacrificed 500 to 700 people every year in order to satisfy their gods?

For many years, the Aztecs have captured our imaginations. Stories from the original European invaders combined with unique, awe-inspiring ruins and legends that speak of palaces of gold create an image of Aztec society defined by grandeur, wealth, and splendor.

But who exactly were the Aztecs? Where did they come from? How did they rise to control such a wide expanse of land? And if they were so powerful, how was it possible for them to fall from power and dominance just three years after contact was first made with the Spaniards?

These are just some of the questions that this new captivating history audiobook aims to answer.

In Aztec History: A Captivating Guide to the Aztec Empire, Mythology, and Civilization you will discover topics such as:

  • Where the Aztecs lived
  • The truth about who the Aztecs really were
  • Remarkable insights into government, city-states, and expansion
  • The arrival of the Spanish and the decline of the empire
  • A day in the life of an Aztec citizen
  • The sovereign, the dignitaries, and the nobles
  • Agriculture and diet
  • Religion
  • Shocking discoveries of human sacrifice
  • And much, much more!

Can't say enough about the way this book is written. It is graphic but what do most expect! I read this a few years ago and reordered it to read it again.

Enjoyed It

I was not familiar with the Triple Alliance until now . Nor did I know the Aztecs never referred to themselves as Aztec. The classes of people was informative & the way governing the empire was not essentially the emperor’s role .

Excellent Deal

Very interesting was the diet of corn & beans which gave the Aztecs all the nutritional value needed . Meat was in short supply so they made do with what was available & what they could grow.

A Great Resourse

This is the first and only book that ever made me scream at it in frustration because I thought the main character was doing something so boneheaded.
