About this listen

After a bout of illness, Elijah Potbury, a practicing necromancer in the town of Name Pending in the territory of Wyoming, is again open for business. His first customer one morning is Miss Abigail, who commissions Potbury to resurrect her sister so she can locate a missing strong-box, the location of which is known only to her deceased sister. The sister is successfully raised but proves uncooperative in the search for the strong-box.

Potbury, at no extra charge, devises a plan to jog the sister's memory by having her former love interest, the late Nat McGrue, pay court to her in the parlor of Miss Abigail's home. The two corpses prove to be unruly and begin to run amok, but there is one sure-fire way to control them, which is to ride on their backs as if they were horses. The contact triggers a dormant equestrian instinct that is perhaps found in all of us, for the corpses immediately move their hands to support the weight of the riders as they wrap their legs about their mounts.

No sooner are the corpses brought to heel, however, than the local marshal arrives in response to a neighbor's complaint about the strange and tumultuous noises coming from Miss Abigail's parlor.
