About this listen

My hot secretary used me to push her ex away. It backfired. But let me back up a little....

She asked me to be her fake fiance. Me...the most powerful man in the city. I should've said no. I shouldn't have cared about what she wanted. But her sweet curves didn't let me be that indifferent.

Making her ex jealous was one thing. Showing her off to my own family was another. My snooty folks hated her. And that brought us closer. It made this fake arrangement a little more real. Very real. And it also made working with her awkward. Very awkward.

But the worst part was when she disappeared and then showed up with a baby bump. I was about to be a father. And I was determined to make my former fake fiancee...my wife.

Contains mature themes.

Baby Bump had all the makings of a charming romcom: cute setup, flirty tension, and a touch of chaos. Her narration? Loved it—easy to listen to and felt natural. But his? That French accent felt more cartoon than captivating. It pulled me out of the story more than it pulled me in.

The chemistry was there, sure, but it leaned too hard on the physical without really exploring their deeper connection. I wanted more than just “we kiss, we combust”—give me the why, not just the what. And the ending? Serviceable, but didn’t leave me with much.

Cute concept, fun moments, just needed a bit more heart and a little less cheese.

Cute but could’ve hit deeper

overall I enjoyed the story.
But, the male exaggerated French-English, made the emotion of the story feel off.

forced french/English but overall good story

How many baby stores are we going to have to read where adult women can’t figure out how to tell a grown man that they are pregnant. It took this author the entire book. Unbelievable!

Too long

Cute story but the female character is so whiny it makes you not like her. But overall it is a cute story easy listen.

Okay story female character is whining all the time

I have never written a review on audible before but this one deserved it. I usually force myself to completely listen to books that are bad but, 30 min in, this one was a hard no. Don’t get me wrong, this book may be interesting plot-wise, but I cannot spend 8+ hours listening to these narrators. She was…ok, but he was way way worse. Being half the book, I think not. He is a Frenchman in the story, speaking with a so-called French accent. Negative. When he first spoke I immediately thought Count Dracula. I thought okay, and had to condition myself to think Frenchman….Frenchman….Frenchman. It almost worked until he spoke in perfect English, mocking what her character would say. That was it. I was done. I couldn’t take a minute more. Too bad because these types of stories are my favorite. This is one I will be skipping…and it won’t be missed.

As with the other reviewers…

It took too long to get to the point. Weak female character. The female narrator was too tough to listen to. Her voice was so quiet without emotion, almost monotone and sleepy. I had to fast forward through much of her content. The male’s French accent wasn’t great but at least you could hear the emotions when he spoke.

Narration needs help

The narritation was good. Inlistened to this book because i like the male narritator in other books. Its too bad the story is ridiculous. I am pretty sure this author has never experienced a pregnancy.

Not realistic

Firstly, BU French accent was amazing. Secondly, I need to acknowledge SW contribution bc without the emotions she brought to the story, we the readers would not have such harsh criticism about the female MC. Overall, the story wasn’t bad but the way it was written almost made me lose interest. The female MC storyline did not endear her to me. She was indecisive, inconsistent, whinny, and self sabotaging. We spent so much time listening to her complaining and whining which made the story unbearable for me. Once the whining stopped the story felt rushed and unfulfilling.

Unfulfilling.
