About this listen

Jade Lawrence has picked the unluckiest of hands, and now she’s dealing with the cards she was dealt. After escaping an abusive relationship, Jade is struggling as she tries to find a home and a job. Never in a million years did she think she’d finally get a lucky card, but she did, and his name is Noah.

Noah Bennett is the CEO of his architecture firm, Bennett & Co. Accustomed to working all the time, Noah enjoys the single life because he finds it hard to trust a woman, but after hosting a charity dinner for the homeless and meeting Jade, his perspective changes.

In this romance, Jade and Noah are drawn to each other and struggle to make it over obstacles their vastly different lives have created. All the women want what Noah gives to Jade, and one man wants exactly what Jade gives to Noah. Will their love survive?

Decent Predictable Damsel in Distress

It was a decent story that gave me some 'Awww' moments and some 'Wtf' thoughts about the characters. The narrator sounded like she was in the bathroom for part of the story. There were echoes and it sounded distant for a bit. She did a great job with the male voice and even the accent for Mia. One bit picky thing that bothered me was that she pronounced 'asked' like 'ax-ked'. Not major but I noticed how many times the author used the word because her pronunciation made it stand out to me. Mia was the most unique character in the story. It was a good book to listen to while I'm waiting for my next great book. Not mad at it, but not a repeater for me.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed this story. Jade and Mia were dealt some harsh realities but they build a strong bond and friendship because of it. I loved how they always looked out for each other. I like how Noah and Kenyon looked out for them.
