About this listen

England, 1308. Boursier, De Arell, Verdun - three noblemen who secretly gather to ally against their treacherous lord. Though each is elevated to a baron in his own right and given a portion of his lord's lands, jealousy and reprisal lead to a 25-year feud, pitting family against family, passing from father to son.

England, 1333. When Lady Quintin Boursier leads an army against the Baron of Blackwood to demand the release of her abducted brother, she finds the same fate awaits her. Now she must free herself and discover where Griffin de Arell holds her brother before her family's lands are forfeited. But as the long winter nights unfold and those prowling the black wood move the feud nearer its deadly end, Quintin realizes she may have wronged her captor. And he is as much a captive to her - she whose secret will spoil the prize others seek to make of a woman no man should want.

Baron Griffin de Arell protects those who belong to him, and now that the tempest who dared put a blade to his throat is his, he intends to protect her - if only from herself. However, Quintin Boursier yet has games to play. Though Griffin resists her wiles, when it appears her family's lands are forfeited, a glimpse of her woman's heart tempts him to make the lady his in truth. Now with the enemy responsible for inciting the feud determined to claim her as his prize, Griffin must join his grudging allies in bringing peace to their lands and protecting the woman who first set herself at his walls - then his warrior's heart.

Join Griffin and Quintin in the third and final book in this best-selling medieval romance series as the Boursiers, De Arells, and Verduns seek the light at the end of their long, dark feud.

Adventure, suspense, romance, and faith

Such a wonderful series that holds one’s attention from the first line of book one (Baron of Godsmere) to the epilogue of the final book (Baron of Blackwood)! The narrator, Mary Sarah Agliotta, does a fabulous job of bringing each character to life, as well as conveying the emotions needed to draw the listener in! You won’t be disappointed with this series!

Outstanding

I am a fan of Tamara Leigh, you cannot stop listening. Beautiful love story, real mystery and good historical atmosphere. I understand the need to repeat parts of the two previous books - the idea I think is to help those who did not read the first two books. Great work and worth the credit.

Exceptional ending

Exceptional ending to an exceptional story.

I did have o read/audio the trilogy at least twice before I captured all the well developed characters and their stories.

Love, honor & integrity

I really enjoy the romance novels of the Middle Ages. Especially because of Tamara Leigh. She is inventive, her care for each character makes them all a stand out in each of their moments. Which is one reason I wanted Quinton & Griffin’s story. They are in previous books, but I wanted their whole story. It’s an amazing one! How they make a very unique & difficult situation to them, into helping others as they help themselves. The honor of these people is stunning. The integrity of them is uplifting, their love of God, family & country inspiring. Even the bad guys pray & have some integrity. It’s great to read about it, especially when our world no longer has it.

An end to a most interesting story!!

My new favorite author!! I can't wait to delve into my next choice, so many to choose from! I am glad since when finding a new author, audible only had a limited number of books. Finally, I have numerous material.

As to this trilogy, it introduced me to a world that I loved to visit. I felt for her at the lost of so much and how she rose above those challenges. You won't regret spending your credits on this trilogy!

Over Half Repeated the First Book in the Series

The plot from the first two books in the series continues, this time focusing more on Griffin de Arell and Quinton Boursier. Their initial meeting in the book proves contentious as Quinton goes to free her brother she thinks Griffin holds prisoner. But when she realizes her error, she has to admit the attraction they both feel. Can two sworn enemies find something more than they’d ever imagined against all the intrigue and deception?

I really disliked that over half this novel recounted parts of what happened in the first two books in the series, and any extra either didn’t add anything or couldn’t logically have been left out of the others. So this, the third and last book in the series, backs up to begin before the first two. Therefore, it ends up being much too long and drawn-out. And, although I loved Griffin, Quinton was shrewish, prickly, conniving, and extremely selfish at the start. She gave to others only when it seemed to serve her purposes, although she was loyal to her mother and brother. I was very disappointed, because I’m used to Tamara Leigh’s medieval novels being better written than this. It did get better once it got beyond the part that had already happened in the other books. Then it became very good. The first twenty-some chapters should have been reduced to a prologue and the actual novel started with the new material. I gave it 3.5, which rounded up to a four. #MiddleAges #Misunderstandings #MedievalTimes #FamilyIntrigue #HappyEnding

Awesome narration!

This reader is terrific! The way she switches voices and characters.. Specifically near the end where Sir Francis and Sir Otto are in the chapel with everyone else around them. It’s amazing!

I hate when this Happens!

Any additional comments?

I read the first two books in the Feud Series then this one. Ugh! One third of the book was the other two books word for word. I know sometimes the Author wants anyone to catch on to the story if they read only one book. However, this was not well done. She could have achieved this in a prolog like book one and been done with it.
