About this listen

A proposal worth considering....

For werebear Silas Vane, finding his True Mate has proven more difficult than he imagined and he's getting grouchier by the minute waiting for her to come along. When a nosy, new hire starts asking questions about why he wants to marry so badly - he tells her - so he can have sex every day!

Fresh out of graduate school, Lexi Durham takes her first counseling job at Denali Crossings, a wilderness therapy camp in rural Alaska. When she spies on the super fine camp cook looking at an Internet dating site, she offers to help. Silas gets the surprise of his life when she offers to be his sex once-a-day girl. It's a deal he can't refuse, only she's a human, and things could get complicated.

Beauty and the Bear

A great quick listen and interesting story and start to a series. I would have liked more of a deepness to the male voices, but overall the narrator does a great job. Lexi takes a job as a counselor at an Alaskan wilderness camp for troubled teens. Little does she know that these aren't just normal teenagers. Silas is the werebear that runs the camp that has the goal of helping teenage bear shifters. He wants to find his mate, but this is complicated by Lexi taking the job. Now he's not only trying to hide the truth of the camp but fighting his attraction to her. When the two make a deal of convenience for the summer, neither of them expects how things will eventually turn out.

Grumpy bear doesn't stand a chance

Listened to audio narrated well by Teri Clark Linden.

Silas Vane is a grouchy bear shifter determined to find a she-bear to wed and settle down his bear's driving mating instincts. He helps run a wilderness therapy camp for shifters as the camp cook.

Lexi 'Blue' Durham is a therapist, who just got hired as the camp therapist. When she arrives she finds Silas looking at a dating website and can't understand why. When he tries to run her off by being blunt and saying he needs and wants sex every day, she offers herself up for the job until he finds a match.

Things move at light speed for this couple and Silas fights hard not to fall for her because she's human. Silas believes bear shifters should not mate with humans, but in the end he can't resist.

I really liked both Silas and Blue, they were interesting characters, I just wished for more time with them to really develop the relationship and give us more about this new world.

A cute, quick, fun romp with a were-bear in Alaska

I had previously read it and enjoyed it as an ebook, and the audiobook is even better! The female narrator made this novella even more vivacious, funny, and sexy than it was as an ebook. My only minor complaint about the narration is that I wish that she had made Silas' voice deeper, but it wasn't too bad.

This is a really fun series, and this first book has everything I am looking for in a light paranormal romance: humor, likeable characters, a hot guy, paranormal stuff, and sexiness. I love the setting in the Alaskan wilderness at an outdoors camp for were-bear teenagers with emotional or behavioral problems. It was a little unlikely and illogical for the were-bears in charge to have hired a human counselor when they never intended her to discover that were-bears exist. Other than that inconsistency, I was quite pleased by the characters and by the story. Lexi is a feisty, likeable young woman who just finished grad school and takes this job in remote Alaska. Silas is the grumpy, good-hearted, and gorgeous camp co-owner and cook. He is also a were-bear. He really wants to find his true mate so that he can have sex every day, and he stubbornly believes that a human woman could never be his true mate. The sex scenes were good and moderately steamy. I liked the interactions between Lexi and Silas and how strong-minded Lexi is. She is no pushover, so she is a really cool heroine.

She was drawn to Alaska, but didn't know why.

All she wanted was an early breakfast, what she ended with was something over the top, and breathe taking. Then there was more!

Finding love wherever style.

Awesome book full of sexy shenanigans and shifters. Solar has his mind set on what should be about his future until he meets Lexi who throws everything he know to be true out the window. Lexi is no fool she know what and who she wants and she will do whatever it takes to get him to follow his heart.

Sunshine and the Grouchy Bear

Beauty and the Bear was a short shifter tale that was a fun listen. Lexi is sunshine compared to Silas and his grumpiness. Lexi is all outgoing and wants to be hired on full time. Lexi and Silas quickly fall into an agreement and somehow it doesn't feel like the story wedged it in. The chemistry is believable between the two. I really liked the good guy side of Silas and how he worked with the kids at the camp. I liked listening to Teri Clark Linden as she wove all Lexi and Silas's voices as well as their internal dialogs.

Is Alaska the Only Place To Find Werebears?

This is a cute and short paranormal romance with some heat. Lexi got under Silas's skin right from the start and she found it difficult to resist her immediate attraction to him. Lexi convinced Silas to start a physical relationship with her in hopes that he would fall for her. Silas agrees to the physical relationship with Lexi until he finds his mate. Well, things don't always go as planned. This is a very promising start to a new series, can't wait for the next book.

Teri is ok as the narrator but her male voices are just not masculine or deep enough for a big, burly werebear.

Definitely worth the price.

Silas and Lexi (Blue)

This was a great short story about Silas finding his mate. Blue offers to be his sex partner until he finds his mate. All he had to do was look right in front of him. This was a thoroughly enjoyable story. Teri Clark Linden did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
