Love Charmaine’s writing. This story was raw and emotional. The plot was good. Definitely lots of triggers. I found myself hating Damien.
The negatives, the internal monologue, just went on and on… this (audio) book should have been at least (2 hours) a 100 pages shorter.
The female narrator, halfway through, I just couldn’t stomach her voice! The lag and over dramatic pauses! I swear she made it even longer than it should have been! I was grinding my teeth trying to endure her voice!
As a South African, I can tell you, they got the Durban accent so wrong 😝

I like the plot of the story but this audio was 14 hours long and it could have been told in half that time! The story was there but unnecessary parts that didn’t add to the climax or help the story progress just made things drag out!
