About this listen

The Biggest Loser was just the beginning. Every week, more than nine million viewers watch. The goal for the 16 contestants is to shed the highest percentage of body weight and capture the grand prize waiting at the end of the grueling course. As Michelle Aguilar discovered, overcoming her own misconceptions about herself was the greatest challenge of all. What do you have to lose?

In Becoming Fearless, you will discover Michelle’s true secret to losing half her body weight and gaining back her life. Along the way, you may discover that you have a lot to lose as well—whether it’s fear, weight, or insecurities that keep you from living fully. As Michelle writes, “I began to realize how much of my past had been spent… allowing my fears to immobilize me instead of choosing to jump.”

What did you love best about Becoming Fearless?

I like her honesty about herself and opening up about her family.

What did you like best about this story?

She's a bit sensitive for me, so sometimes it was too 'boo hoo' but her honesty of sharing a story when she was a kid and would cry on purpose for attention I thought was cool that she would admit that. Thats who she was and she knew it and wasn't denying it.

Which scene was your favorite?

When she said the Julian Michaels said, ''Fear and do it anyway.''

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, it was easy to listen to. I wasn't like super blown away or anything but it's still a good story.

Any additional comments?

The chapter about her marriage has nothing to do with her family's story or her weight loss story in my opinion. So I wasn't thrilled about that chapter since it just felt like it deviated because I could've cared less about her husband. He seemed irrelevant importance wise.
