About this listen

**Revised and Edited Edition Now Available**

Justin Roberts always dreamed of being a ring announcer at World Wrestling Entertainment. From playing with action figures of the Ultimate Warrior, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Bret Hitman Hart and Hulk Hogan to actually announcing these larger-than-life characters to the ring, Roberts lived out the dream of countless, passionate wrestling fans worldwide.

Best Seat in the House is the inspirational story of Roberts' ambitious journey to becoming a full-time ring announcer at WWE, performing all over the world and announcing weekly live events, TV shows, and the enormously popular pay-per-view spectaculars for more than a decade.

In addition to announcing the top wrestlers in sports entertainment from Nature Boy Ric Flair, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, King Kong Bundy, and the Iron Sheik to Dwayne the Rock Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, and the Undertaker, Roberts also relives entertaining and candid moments with his real-life superhero coworkers, workplace politics, grueling travel schedules, harsh requirements of WWE talent, and the overall merciless treatment from the higher-ups whose decisions can affect nearly the entire wrestling industry.

This book is the all-access backstage pass for those who have always wondered what it would be like to work at WWE under the infamous Vince McMahon and travel all over the world in cars, buses, and planes with the biggest stars of professional wrestling.

Justin Roberts pulls no punches and gives you an uncensored, raw look at the journey of a young man chasing, catching, and living his dream.

Justin Roberts lived his dreams. Great read.

Justin Roberts lived his dream from being a lifelong WWE fan as a child to actually making it to the big time as a ring announcer with WWE. An amazing journey that brings out his honest feelings and confirms my preexisting sentiments about WWE as very loose, hypocritical business culture. I found the book to be both emotional and inspiring throughout as a lifelong professional wrestling fan myself.

Awesome Book!

Where does Best Seat in the House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is so far the best audiobook I have listened to by far. Of course I am biased because I am a big wrestling fan and this definitely gave the fans an inside look into the business.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This was an autobiography so Justin of Course.

What does Justin Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

With Justin narrating the book himself, I was able to hear and feel the ups and downs of what he was going through trying to make it in the wrestling business from his perspective. Listening to him read his story from front to back is just as good as if it were presented in tv format.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You think you know but you have no idea.. The Justin Roberts story

Any additional comments?

I would recommend any wrestling fan check this out. This audiobook gives an inside look into the early life and wrestling announcing career of Justin Roberts. I didnt know much about him before this but can appreciate the struggle and the come up after reading this. WWE did him wrong and its good to hear his side of the story. It was a fair and candid look into the inner workings of the business and the people behind the crap that goes on behind the scenes. By the way, why isnt JBL fired yet after so many complaints of bullying by multiple people?

Phenomenal Story

Great detailed behind the scenes look from a very talented ring announcer who had more passion for professional wrestling than one could imagine. Also great insight on the politics and even mistreatment by a wrestling corporation.

Truly Best Seat in the House

I first found it about Justin Roberts when I attended an AEW show in Austin. He did such a great job with the love audience. I didn't watch WWE for a long time so I missed his entire time there.

I truly enjoyed listening to his audiobook. He is an excellent writer and narrator. He tells such detailed interesting stories. It is very evident that he is a fan of pro wrestling and the WWE. He got to love his dream. He tried his best to connect the fans with the wrestlers. I was saddened to learn how he was treated by many in the company. And for so long. They did not appreciate his contribution enough. And its evident that he cares about people.

Not a place to work

Justin Roberts confirms many things I have heard and read over the years.
Vince McMahon comes off as a self absorbed carnival barker. The WWE gets away with classifying employees as subcontractors even though most any other business would be fined as they control all aspects of the wrestlers life. Wrestlers are disposable and WWE is more concerned with image than their “superstars” or fans. I find these accusations to be believable.
Justin has a bit of announcer voice and it can be boring at times, but his story is sound.
Wrestlers that I always thought were jerks are outed as such.

Yes!

wow! a great story of a guy who never gave up on his dreams. He knew exactly what he wanted and got it, even through some pretty grueling times. my only complaint is with the audio. some pretty patchy editing spots throughout.

very interesting journey

Justin did a great job of keeping my attention the whole time. Everyone can relate to not getting along with their supervisors, and he did a great job contrasting the joy of working their dream job with the dead one feels when dealing with an untenable situation with supervisors. I wish it was longer! I would love to hear more stories from his travels.

Really enjoyed this book

As a lifelong pro wrestling I found this to be a great listen. highly recommend this to any who are interested in pro wrestling especially WWE backstage issues. the narrator did a great job but speaking is his career. There were some technical issues with things that should have been edited out but not a big deal to me.
